Questions about US holiday/spring break / April busy???

Hi there,
coming from Canada I have no idea when spring break and such is in the US..and when it would be busy at the parks and such. Our Spring Break/March break is the same time every year. Last time we went in April..3rd week it was soooo busy! Apparently it was spring break for alot of US schools!

Does anyone know when most spring breaks are in 2010.
We are looking to go the 3rd week in April but don't want to go and it be packed!!!!!!
If its going to be too busy we may go in January instead..move the trip up a bit!!!!

March and April are the Spring Break periods throughout the US.It varies greatly.Also the week of Easter and leading up to Easter is PACKED. You may want to see when Easter falls and plan to go away from that time perios

Easter is April 4th this year. The week before and after will probably be busiest from what I've read. I'm hoping a couple of weeks after will be better as we're planning on going April 12th. For the most part, schools should be done with spring break by then and the third full week of April.

If it's any indication, the room rates drop dramatically on April 11th.

I'm in NH and our April school vacation is 4/26 - 4/30. I know that most other New England states are the week before us, which would be the third week in April - 4/19 - 4/23. I'm not positive about the other states dates but I know my vacation and we are always a week after everyone else. So just be aware of that when making your decision. Good luck deciding! Hope it's not too crowded!

I'm in NH too and know that MA and ME both have the third week of April as a school vacation week (I have nieces and nephews in both states). Also, parts of NH have the 3rd week in April too (relatives in northern NH are off that week). Ours is the last week of April, like the PP.

We were in Orlando during the last week of April 2009. While we stayed at US/IOA we did take a day and spent it at WDW. I found the crowds were light to moderate in all the parks (we did 4 parks in one day) that day. As I recall it was a Tuesday.

Wow, I had no idea about you New Englanders.

I've never met anyone (and have family all over the states) that has a break that late. Who knew? Not me.

Thanks for letting us know. And I'm glad it wasn't that busy when you were there this past April. I'm really hoping most of the "rush" is over once Easter has passed.

Has anyone else been the shortly after Easter (but not Easter week)? I'd love some insight.

In the past we went in May, but can't this year with school. Our kids were homeschooled so, it didn't matter to us. Now I think they'll be fine as long as we don't start bumping into all those end of the year events.

thanks for your reply..we usually go for his birthday which is April 19th.....
we went over his birthday week April 2008 and it was soooooo busy!
We were thinking April 16th-25th ....
