Anyone Else Nervous?

I was just wondering if there are other people that may be a little nervous about traveling to Disney World with the announcement about the terror alerts?

I fly out of my local airport tomorrow and I have to admit that I am a little but nervous.

I realize that attacks can happen at any time but with it making news lately it just has me thinking a little more about it...

I was a nervouse flyer BEFORE 9/11....not anymore. I refuse to live my life in fear...worrying about what "could" happen. I will not let some crazy person have that kind of control.

I wouldn't worry. Maybe its just my NYC mentality but if I got scared everytime there was a terror alert I wouldn't be able go anywhere.

Plus if people know about the attack, how would someone go about doing it without being stopped first?

Also, I haven't even heard of terror alerts. I've heard of arrests and a standard procedure bulletin, but that's all.

That's my take. Go, have fun, don't worry. It's a vacation.

Al Qaida creates more scare with potential bombings than they do with actually carrying them out. Hats off to the intelligence agencies and law enforcement that are doing such a great job. But, if we stop living our day to day lives just because Al Qaida has stepped up their potential, then they have won. I believe that this scare is not a coincidence that it comes to light around the same time as the Fed Bank Chairman says that we are officially out of the recession. Al Qaida will do anything to try to keep us scared and intimidated, the way they run the countries that they are in. Enjoy life, enjoy Disney, and be confident that in the grand scheme of things, we are all safe.

more nervous about living near pittsburgh this weekend with the g20 summit in town. with all the dignataries in town and all the protestors it's not pretty already. hopefully everything will go as good as can be expected.

as for flying, we are going to disney in december and i'm not worried about it much.

Most of these alerts turn out to be nothing but worthless scares created by DHS. This one is related to the guy who was arrested last week. DHS's actual statement on the alert contained this paragraph:

""While DHS and FBI have no information regarding the timing, location or target of any planned attack, we believe it is prudent to remind transit authorities to remain vigilant," Homeland Security spokesman Sean Smith said Monday night."

So don't be afraid, be annoyed.

Homeland security, or any agency like that is in a 'damned if you do, damned if you dont' catch-22. If you DONT put out things like this and it's found out they had ANY inkling of it, they get blasted for withholding information from the public, if they DO put them out, they get blasted for causing fear and to a lesser extent panic.
