Just Curious - How does Stitch differ from Alien Encounter?

Was there last week and did Stich...

What was different between it and the ride it used to be...?

Stitch is just "mischievous."

The Alien was malevolent and intensely dangerous. He scared the socks off of my son who was about 9 years old at the time.

Stitch stinks (literally) and AE rocked!!

really there isn't much difference, same story line but replace friendly disney cartoon alien w/ real deal scary looking alien and remove the burp and the lick, I do remember getting hissed or spit on though, it was scarier and the paint scheme of the interior of the building was black and silver, not blue like it is now. Other than that, thats about all I remember that was different.

Well alien encounter was in my opinnion actually very suspenseful and scary. The whole idea is you are there to preview this company's teleportation system and they decide to send like the head of the company into that tube that is in the center of the room.

The signal is intercepted by I think another planet on accident and they just assume they are sending the right thing to earth. The actually send a carnivorous violent alien. The alien breaks out of the tube, he tugs on your shoulder restraints, breaths on the back of your neck, etc. all while the lights are out. He also tears apart the maintenance man who comes to fix the lights, and so saliva/blood sprays all over the audience.

It's very intense even though you know its fake.

Stitch....is....well not the same.

Here is a video of Alien Encounter. You can see for yourself. Just know that it is in Night Vision and that the real ride was in total darkness. You will see a lot more on the video than you would see if you were in the ride.

IMHO Stitch was a waste of our time. The others in my party agreed.

I don't remember getting spit on ( flying water)with Alien encounter. I may have and just don't remember it. Never really liked the ride or the new stitch version.

Alien Encounter was a MILLION times better than Stitch

Parents did take not the multitude of warning signs that were posted outside and inside the ride seriously..it stated over and over again that it would be scary to children but parents still brought their children on the attraction anyway...its scared the children beyond belief and guest relations had numerous complaints so they changed the ride.

IMO so mad they changed it..it was super scary I will admit but it was an awesome attraction and now its just a big waste of space.

Stitch - gross, dark, annoying.
AE - dark, scary as hell, made me cry a little bit. (I'm more scared than the average person of dark and aliens, though.)

In AE, you weren't spit on...

There was a supposed technician above the room on a catwalk with a flashlight trying to fix the power outage (you could see the light swing to and fro, and hear him talking and moving around in the high fidelity audio headsets)...

He would always find the (by now, very angry) alien...

There would be a terrified scream...

And then, large drops of warm fluid would rain down on the seating...

Let me just tell you - AE scared the "you know what" out of me. It was dark, you could not move, it was loud, it was realistic - I remember a strobing type light that allowed you to get a quick glimpse of the alien, then it was gone.

It was also LONG. 7 minutes - by the 5 minute mark, most kids under 12 were screaming their heads off which made it even more tense. 2 - 3 minutes of darkness, real screaming, can't move, big man-eating alien moving around, breathing on your neck...yeah, it was definitely the scariest ride I've been on.

They should have had a height restriction to keep out the little ones.

Stitch is pretty lame by comparison. The story doesn't make much sense. It's neither funny, scary nor very enjoyable. I wish they would move the ride to DHS and bring it back as AE.

Actually, remaking it as a Bruce Banner turning into Hulk theme might not be a bad idea...

AE scared me.
It left me with a very un-Disney feeling, kind of like the feeling one might get with a second ticket increase within a year or the same merchandise in 80% of the shops, or seeing vacant/closed stores and restaurants in the MK when the parks are clearly full.

Disney has a style that AE just didn't fit into. I'm all for thrills of a Disney kind, but there was just something disturbing.
It was that bad future feeling of money grubbing space entrepreneurs pushing some kind of untested technology for a quick buck.
It just doesn't fit to me. Not with the amazing Carousel of Progress steps away.

Stitch now is just "eh." and rude.
Hear that? Listen carefully and you can hear it...
It's Walt spinning in his grave at the idea of hot dog burps and associated smells as entertainment in Tomorrowland.

Pirates, maybe passable for such, as pirates are rude, or so I hear.

Mission to Mars as updated with what we've got now (imagine Circlevision in the round room above the seats with actual Mars photos/movies (gasp, maybe even in Disney 3-D!!!!) would be very, very cool.
That would be truly fitting with Tomorrowland.
