Smile All dressed up and no where to go.....

Thats what I feel like...lol

For months I have been in pure DIsney mode.....doing everything I could think of. I have my ADR's, the mini-van rental reserved, the house is paid for, the non-essentials are packed (stuff we wont use between now and then).

And now....here I am......2 weeks out and I have nothing to do! It just doesn't feel right. I thought I was pulling my hair out trying to get everything in order.....but this is WORSE!

I can't just sit here and twiddle my thumbs! You'd think I have plenty to occupy my time as I work 2 jobs and am a full time student......but nooooooo.....if a spare minute arises....Im thinking Disney.

Does anyone else go through this right before their trip? Is there like a medical term for it?...lol (just teasing......maybe).

I am surpriing my 2 boys with this trip. At 98 days out I told my kids that I had a surprise for them for my oldest sons 16th birthday. We are 15 days out now and its SO hard not to tell them. I swear Im going insane here...lol

aww i kinda know what you mean, i've been soo excited for this trip for soo long (and don't get me wrong im still soo excited!!!) but i've been counting each day since about the 180 days to go mark...and now im just getting cheesed off that im still counting - its so soon we should just be there now!!

still 28 days to go

the way i think of it though which makes me realise im being a little silly, is i'd rather be looking forward to a disney trip and have all the fun ahead of us .. than to be home from a disney trip (even though i do look forward to coming home with all our magic memories that i know we'll make out there!)

At least you two are within a few weeks of your vacation. I still have 2 months to wait for mine...and I'm totally in Disney mode. I can't even concentrate on work...I spend most of my days on here .

I just want to start packing - well I have started with some of the non-essentials...but I'm waiting for the cooler weather to hit here so I can start packing some clothes and stuff, while it's fresh in my mind.

I hear ya though...so ready for our trip to Disney...can't it be November 28th already????

I know what you mean. We have everything set in stone too. I just made my final ADR (a last minute one) the other night, sat down with my DH and did a plan of attack for each day, pulled out all of the girls things that they are bringing (autograph books that I had already purchased them, their Mickey ears that they made last trip, pens, their backpacks that they are going to use, my canvas bag that I use each trip) and placed them in a suitcase that is set aside in my room so I wouldn't forget them later. The sad part is that we don't leave until 12/1. The worst part for me is the ADRs. I am still constantly on the ADR website checking for last minute cancellations so I could tweak my own schedule, which has been tweaked many times already. My DH told that I have to stop because everything is perfect the way it is, but for some reason, since I have been doing this for a month now, I feel the need to still go on . I guess the next thing to focus on is buying some new outfits to wear on our trip....gosh, if I am bad now, how am I going to be when we are only weeks away

I have two days left till our trip, and it is driving me nuts. The past few days have been miserable. Hardly able to work or do anything else but think about our trip. Well.... now only 48 more hours to go till I am there! yippee, but in the mean time....the hours and minutes are going slowly.....

if it makes you all feel any better, I'm "all dressed up with no where to go" and we're not going until Sept 2010 MNSSHP!! I'm pretty sure there's a name for that !! but I'm biding my time by playing around w/ a dining spreadsheet pretending I can soon make reservations!! Yeah, it's sad isn't it ? hahaha!!!! But thankfully, the ADR's are soon at 180days, so I'll be able to actually have some planning fun a little earlier ! I envy you all only a little while more to go !!!!

Disneyliscious,

I arrive the same day as you! Kind of feeling the same way, just want it to be here faster!!! We aren't telling our DD8 until the night before we fly out...hard to contain my excitement so she won't know something is up. I have been reading some Disney books but she just thinks I am planning the trip for myself and 2 college friends for next October (so hoping for a bounceback offer!!)

I think I am actually going to start packing in secret. I just got her 3 new summer outfits at the outlet mall that she hasn't seen yet so I have some things to put in her suitcase!

Hope you have a wonderful, magical trip!!!

11 more days to wait!

I just double-checked all ADR's. I am packed/gathered.

My DH, on the other hand is THERE for a conference! He got a sneak preview, but he has to come back to leave again for our real trip!

Fortunately, my work weeks and days' off are filled until we leave.

I am driving my coworkers crazy with the countdown. It's amazing how many people don't GET it!

HAHAHA!! That's awesome !!! I hope your trip is wonderful too!! We're not telling my step daughter until we're actually at the airport. My DH thinks we should wait until we're driving up to the GF and she sees the Castle. I think that's just cruel to do to a kid! Well, know that you're not alone in your "virtual trip planning" !!! Your daughter is going to be SO excited when you tell her !!!!

Try planning a special way to tell the kids. Give 'em a scavenger hunt contest (two differnet trails of clues) to decide who gets to decide what everybody rides first. That'll fill a couple days.

I feel your pain! We are down to less than 3 weeks before our DLR trip. I have raided every dollar store for little gizmos, made a touring plan, decided where to eat, printed coloring activities, and generally overthought every bit of the trip. Can't pack yet because we are still in summer clothes.

The worst part is that I can only share a fraction of my planning because my DH already thinks I'm overdoing it. He is excited to go but says he doesn't really want to talk about it until the new month rolls over. So I have to come here, where y'all understand!

As to why I'm on the WDW board when I am going to DLR, I'm busy pre-planning a 2011 trip to WDW ....
