Got back Saturday, small quick recap....

Hey Everyone,

I thought I would post a quick recap of our trip to DW, if anyone has any questions please let me know...

We stayed at the WL and it was fantastic, as it always is, got towel animals everyday, service was great, and buses/boats were running constantly.

We were on the Deluxe Dining plan and it worked out so much better for us this year, last year we tried the 3 meals a day approach but was overwhelmed with it. This year we did a TS for lunch and then a Sig dinner and it was fantastic. Still just a bit too much food as we each got Appetizer, Entree, and Dessert each meal but I think we'll stick to this plan.

MNSSHP - it was so great, was the first Tuesday party so I think they were kind of working out the kinks like piping the spooky music through the entire park wasn't working....frontierland had their normal music playing. Got some great photopass pics including the ghost on the carriage AND the new hitchhiking ghost pic.

Crowds - were low, didn't even seem like restaurants were that busy this year. We booked our bounceback offer for the same week next year.

Lovebugs - we saw 1....or 2 if you factor in that they were "connected" and it was on the Saturday that we were leaving.

Heat and Humidity - Wow was it HOT and HUMID but manageable, low 90's everyday and a few drops of rain at the beginning of our trip but after that no rain.

Keys to the Kingdom - We loved this tour and all the information you get, downside is that there is a LOT of walking and you're walking for 5 hours with a few breaks in there. Our tour guide was Daniel from Portage, IN...just so happens that we're from Indiana so it gave us something to talk about. There were a few older folks on our tour that were having some trouble keeping up with the pace since it was so hot and they were already tired from their trip. We hope to do another different tour on our next trip

Overall it was a great trip, the worst part of going on vacation is coming home....thank goodness we booked the bounceback offer for next year so it gives me something to look forward to.

There was a small problem with Bus transportation I think it was Thursday early evening, we were eating dinner but apparently during a routine inspection a bus driver found some sort of device under or on the bus that caused suspicion so they stopped all buses and had them all inspected. We just caught the aftermath of the people being mad from being stranded for all of that time....they were not happy and were pretty rude to the bus drivers when the service started back up.

Wow, sounds like you had a good trip. Was the Keys tour really worth it? I've been thinking about it for our next trip.

Scary about the bus sitch, but at least the precautions were being taken for the safety of all the guests.

Countdown until your next trip lol

Hi DisneyDahling,

I would say Yes, the Keys to the Kingdom tour is worth it in my opinion....the only downside is all the walking around the Magic Kingdom. If I had to do it over again I would schedule the tour for the beginning of our vacation and not the end. My lower back and feet were hurting from walking around the parks all week. It includes a Counter Service lunch at Columbia Harbor House also. We really did get a lot of insider secrets which we loved

My favorite part of the tour was going backstage, and of course riding the haunted mansion.

I just changed my countdown ticker to reflect my new vacation next year hee hee

Thanks for posting! We leave next week and I've been watching the weather...was hoping for a bit less humidity but what can you do. Glad you enjoyed your trip!
