Would you do a 10/3 split, or just stay at one place for the 13 nights?

We're currently booked in at a 2BR at BCV for 10 nights, and then 3 nights at a 2BR at VWL. I am contemplating just adding the 3 nights to the BC and not switching for only that short of a stay, but would also love to see the WL at Christmas time.

This is our first WDW trip and we'll be there Dec. 6-19.

What would you do??

Andi

I have done a split stay a few times. If I was going to be there for 13 days I would rather have the 3 day stay first then the 10 day stay. WL is beautiful with the Xmas decorations but you could still just visit it and have a meal there. I would probably just stay at the BCV the whole time.

Did I even help?

I'd stay in the same resort. I love BCV anyway. But beyond that packing up and transfering resorts is too difficult for us. We're a family of 4 and it takes us a few hours to gather everything up and pack. I'd rather be in the Parks.

We have never done a split stay and don't want to. Once I am at my resort I want to unpack and have a good time on vacation....I don't want to worry about having to repack everything just so I can go to another resort (especially for 3 days). Then you have the whole hassle of checking-out and then checking back into another resort....too much valuable time is being wasted (sure you don't have to worry about moving your luggage since Disney will do it for you, but still). Therefore, I would definately stay at BCV for your whole stay and then plan on going over to WL for a visit.

I'd stay at BCV entire time. We love to resort hop during the holidays, so that's what I'd do. I'd also go to AK to check out there decor.

oo

have NEVER considered split stay. with so much to do and sometimes hectic pace one resort is enough for me. you can always visit the other resorts and stay and stay and stay.

We did a 3 way split this summer for 12 nights...

1st nite at POP
8 nights at BCV
3 nights at AKV Kidani Village

We felt like 8 nights was a little too much and 3 nights was not enough at Kidani Village.

I would try to get a few extra nights at WL.....you seem to have a lot for Beach Club.

I agree with the PP that said I would MUCH prefer to do the 3 days at WL first, then settle in at BCV for the duration.
After being at BCV for that long I wouldn't want to pack up everything and re-settle at WL for just 3.
My second suggestion is, if you really want to spend time at both resorts, to even the days at both resorts. Or at the very least add a few more days at WL.
HTH!

Well, I'll vote for the split.

As much as I like the BC, I think 13 days is too long. I would get bored being there for so long when there are so many other nice places to try.

With a split you gain:

-- 2 resorts
-- 2 pool areas
-- 2 themes
-- WL decorations at xmas -- they really are special
-- boat to MK
-- walk to Epcot and DHS
-- only need bus to AK
-- a chance to try a new resort

It feels like 2 vacations in one! Disney will move your luggage for you. To us, moving is a minor inconvenience that's definitely worth it.

For what it's worth, we've done a 10/4 split twice and I had no problems having the big stay at the beginning and the smaller stay at the end.

This summer, we did 7 nights at BCV and then 3 more nights at AKV. About 2 days before the move, I started dreading packing up and also just knowing my vacation was going to be over in 3 days after the move made me sad. I totally agree with all the pp to do the shorter stay at the beginning. And, if possible, make the last longer stay the resort you are the most excited about staying at. In fact, that is what I am doing next June - 3 nights at BLT, then 7 nights at AKV.

Could you try for 8 nights and 5 nights- then I agree it would seem more like 2 vacations ,you would get to try both resorts and all the great benifits of each as the pp said -I think I would like this as long as the one of them is not shorter than 5 nights
-- 2 pool areas
-- 2 themes
-- WL decorations at xmas -- they really are special
-- boat to MK
-- walk to Epcot and DHS
-- only need bus to AK
-- a chance to try a new resort

Thanks....

Thanks for all the replies!!

We've decided to add another day at the end of the trip, so that will make 10 at BCV and 4 at VWL - which I am thrilled about!! Can't wait.

I would stay at BCV! The villas at WL are nothing special. It was like going into a high rise apartment building thats attached to the lodge with a long, cold, dark corridor. No disney magic for me there---and you can always see WL at Christmas time by booking a meal at one of their restaurants. I would keep the extra fourth day for an extra night at BCV!
