Inventory Control. Supposedly only for suites. You put in a faxed request or a request while onboard a ship to be put on a waitlist for a room before that time period is released.

They stopped taking waitlists on August 3 for 2011, because they needed to deal with the waitlist before the itineraries were released in September.

My guess is they posted them after IC was closed for the day so no one could call until bookings opened Monday.

The cost for the seven days is as follows:
Adult 1 Cruise Fare: $5,179.00
Adult 2 Cruise Fare: $5,179.00
Adult 3 Cruise Fare: $1,729.00
Adult 4 Cruise Fare: $1,729.00
Vacation Insurance: $336.00
Government Taxes & Fees (Cruise): $382.52
---------------------------
Total: $14,534.52

A lot more expensive than I thought, may need to consider a different category or another line.

DCL CM told me a day ago that they were doing waitlists for gold and platinum levels. We are gold.
Thank you for posting! I knew there had to be other folks with IC bookings. Did you recieve a phone call or any other contact from IC. No call for us, just that confirmation post card after faxing in our request and the booked cruise showing up under the Upcoming Cruises section of DCL CC account. In past years, we have always received a call.

Wow! $14.5K for 7 night Alaska. That $19K for the Wonder PC Repo is starting to look a bit better. I wish the dates of the Repo worked for us but there is just no way my girls can miss that much school, especially with my eldest being in her freshman year of HS at that time.

No call, we didn't even get a postcard to let us know we made it on the list. We put the request in on the Magic right about the time they cut off the waitlist and she didn't know if they would accept it. If it were for the OP, I still wouldn't know.

I anticpate the airfare and shore excursions and international traveling items (passport, etc.) may make it more expensive overall as well.

I was quoted on my CC page a price of $6081.68 in a cat 05C room #6046 1 adult $6,081.68. If this is truly just for one person, they can forget it!

What cruise is this for? Are you traveling as a single?

This was for the PC and I'm traveling with my DH. I also requested another connecting room at the time I made the request but that info isn't showing up.

Maybe the second cabin is booked under your DH's account. If so, the price you were quoted may include the Single supplement (175%, I believe). At least you are already booked and can probably call monday and get it all straighted out.

I faxed my request in around Sept. 7th though I can't remember exactly. I am pretty sure that I am on the list - as it is listed in my past cruise section like other silvers on here. So while they may have said they stopped the wait list on Aug. 3rd I would tend to think otherwise.

So anyone that has received a response/quote/info on their CC account, do you remember when you faxed in your request? I was just curious about where they were at or if there was any rhyme/reason.

Early April of 2009. I can't recall the exact date but my confirmation card from IC is postmarked 4/14/2009. So probably about a week or two before that.

Edit: Exact date was April 7, 2009. Found my FAX.

Wow! I have a reservation number, cabin number, and I'm booked, but I don't see pricing. It may be because I always use the same travel agency. Where exactly are most of you seeing the pricing? I'm super curious for what the price will be.

Thanks!

If you are booked through a TA, then you won't see your pricing online. Congratulations on your reservation.

Please let us know what you booked and the price, when you find out.

Thanks!!

I've been looking at the Princess website. We can do a 14 nt cruise-tour (7nts land followed by 7 nt cruise) in a suite for $10,900 total. Of course we'll have out of pocket expenses for the tours and shore excursions. But DCL's price doesn't include that either. Plus Princess suites come with free internet, thermal suite access, and dry cleaning in addition to the DVD library and daily treats!

Since DCL isn't giving us any firm data, I've told my TA to go ahead and move our WB TA sailing to a Alaska sailing. I've already got $1200 in deposits on that sailing, so at least I'm not out any additional money. But the reality is I'll probably move the Alaska date to a cruise on one of the new ships and do Alaska with Princess.

We've done the Baltics and Panama Canal with Princess and they are awesome!
