Airline Check-In at Hotel - Paying Checked Bag Fees??

Will be using airline check-in at Animal Kingdom Villas in October. Flying back on AirTran. They charge $15 for the 1st checked bag (my wife and I will each have 1 to check) so as I understand it I need to pay these fees in advance. All the instructions I've found say to call 407-824-1231 to pay these fees so they'll have a record of it at the hotel check-in desk.

I've been trying for several days to call that number. I get one ring and go to a generic voicemail message. I have left a message but no call back.

Am I calling the right number? Is there a trick to this? Is there a better way?

Thanks to all in advance!

I am not sure if Airtran does this, but when we were there in Feb of this year, we had our fees waived when checking out at our hotel. I specifically asked about the fee and was told it was a courtesy for disney customers that some airlines do.

I believe we flew united.

I called the number from our room on the morning of check-out. Gave them my CC info, they gave me a confirmation number, and we were good-to-go.

Perhaps they have made the error??? That's kind of funny!

How interesting! When you called the number to pay for the bags that's when you learned it was waived by the airline? Will be doing this for the first time in Dec and USAIRWAYS just upped it from $15 to $20 for 1 bag. We're used to SW, so no fees.

Anyway, want to try to know the process ahead of time!

Thanks!!

I actually found out from the counter guys when I was checking my bag at my resort. I was expecting to pay the fee, but they told me my airline waived it for disney guests using the magical express.

I thought you had to pay BEFORE you arrived at the airline check-in counter in the hotel and that you would not have been able to pay at the counter anyway???
