That one magical moment....

As we get closer to our trip, I find myself thinking more and more about the magic that happens at Disney. There always seems to be one (or two...) magical moments that happen....those spontaneous, wonderful things that happen that put a huge smile on your face or make you tear up.

On our last trip, our daughters were five and three. We adopted our daughters from China, and they were VERY eager to visit the China area of Epcot. Well, low and behold, we wandered into China and ran right into Mulan! Upon seeing our daughters, she knelt down and hugged them to her. Then she whispered, "hi there, my little mei meis." Mei mei is little sister in Mandarin. The girls knew exactly what she had said, as did I, and I could already feel the tears welling up in my eyes. It was a very tender and special moment to watch...one that my girls remember and still talk about. She then kisssed each of them on the check and left a wonderful lipstick kiss for each of them. It was just awesome.

I'm so looking foward to our trip in two weeks and the special, magical moments that will become lasting memories for all of us.

What a sweet story - brought tears to my eyes.

When we took our kids to WDW, they were 6 & 9. I loved the sight of them holding hands and walking through Fantasyland. It was just so sweet to see a brother and sister holding hands. That is probably the ONLY time they have every held each other's hand! They are now 16 and 19.

And I remember that my husband is/was just not real crazy about a Disney trip (I'm the Disney nut). Anyway, our very first ride of the trip was on Test Track. I remember his stunned face after we got off - it was obvious that he was very impressed with all the Disney details.

Our most recent trip at the end of August, we were checking into the hotel (port orleans french quarter), and my 3 year old son was SO excited about getting his own mickey mouse balloon. It was all he could talk about...his RED balloon that he was going to get at the magic kingdom!

Well, we were at the wishing fountain in the lobby when a cast member came up to me and asked if we had just checked in....I said yes, and he said "come with me"....mmmk

Me, my 3 year old son and 2 year old daughter followed him, right over to two balloons! A RED one for my son, and a green one for my daughter! I have never seen a bigger smile on my son's face as I did that very moment!

(a family leaving for the airport had left the balloons with the cast member because they couldn't take them on the plane....so thank you to that family...you made my son's trip very special)

Wow!

That is really cool and truly a most magical moment! I assume you got it captured on film. While my daughter is not of Asian descent, we, too, had a truly fabulous encounter with Mulan. It was extremely magical for us because Mulan is one of my daugther's favorite princesses and movies.

Glad you had an awesome experience and something your daughters will always remember!

Have a magical day!

My 5 (at the time) year old got chosen to be in the Festival of the Lion King show. Probably because he had just got his face painted.

It was both boys first trips (our daughter had been twice before) but everything was so much more focused on the baby that my son getting chosen for something on his own was truly a special bit of Disney Magic.

I have two that still give me goosbumps.

The first happened at DHS. My 5 year old daughter loves High School Musical and that was the ONE thing she wanted to do/see. She dressed her in her cheerleading costume and we waited and waited for the show to start. She's shy but when they pulled her to dance with them during the show she beamed and ran up and danced. We were all SO proud of her.

The second was on our last night. It was mine and my husband's anniversary and we were treating the kids to dinner in the castle. Not only did they celebrate our anniversary but my 3 yo son raised his hand that it was his birthday (it SO was not) and they went with it and celebrated with him as well. Then, while we were eating dessert, the fireworks went off and watching the fireworks from inside the castle was breathtaking.

We were watching the Dreams Come True show in February 2008. My DD who was then almost 3.5 turned to me and said quite seriously, "Dreams really do come true Mommy."

I'm pretty sure she knew what she was doing though. We went back 6 months later and somehow she conned her way to a free bonus TSM fastpass. The lady at the wait time fountain gave her a coin to make a wish. Her wish was to come back to Disney World. So, she got a second wish. It was to go on TSM again - since Mommy wasn't willing to wait 2 hours. The lady came back with a special moment of bonus fastpasses.

That is the sweetest story ever!!!

We seem to have at least one of these magical moments every time we go to Disney World, although I tend to be reduced to tears by even the simplest things at Disney. On our last trip in March we were picked to be family of the day at the Magic Kingdom on our last full day there. It was so special to me because I often feel I am out of the running for opportunities like that because I am a single mom, and we don't fit the perfect little mom, dad, and two kid families that you usually see chosen.

The time before that I had gotten a diver at the Coral Reef to hold up a sign telling my boys how much their mommy loved them and how proud I was of them. They loved it and it surely brought tears to my eyes. I love Disney for the memories they give us and my oldest boys are die hard fans lol. Here is wishing you lots and lots of magical memories on your upcoming trip!

Awww...I can't read these for the tears in my eyes now!

I have to tell of two things that happened to me and DD then 4.5 y/o. We were at the Princess Meet and Greet, Aurora was the first Princess we were to see. I had my daughters mouse ears in my hand, her name facing the princess I guess because when it was our turn, Aurora smiled, opened her arms and said "Olivia, it's so good to see you!" That little girl ran and practically jumped in Aurora's arms. I, of course was wiping away the tears but the photopass photographer caught the moment.

This was Olivia's 1st trip but we had watched the trip planning DVD's over and over as well as watching other peoples vacation videos on video sharing sites so that she would know what to expect when we got there. She recognized all the rides and areas of the parks. But the best was during Wishes on our first night she was laid back in her stroller watching the show and singing, word for word along with the music "Starlight, starbright. First Star I see tonght..." She was singing loud too. Adults and older children were watching and listening to her with smiles on their faces. I didn't realise how much she had taken in from all the videos!

Her first trip is one I would do over and over again...too bad we can't get that one time back! The others will be Magical but.....not like that.

Those moments!!! Aaah those moments... for this last trip, it was on our first ride on our first morning in MK. We got onto Big Thunder and DD and Dh sat together in front of me. She turned around with the biggest smile ever and said "Thanks mom!"

We never got to see her when we went...we are hoping this time we will! Our daughter would be thrilled!

I think when we went was watching our daughter laughing so much over the Step Sister dinner at the Grand Floridian....Seeing through her eyes the Disney magic!

For me, that one "Magic moment" was during my high school Senior trip. Our trip was right at the end ofthe school year, so after the trip we would go home, have the weekend, and then graduate. Anyway, on our last day we went to watch wishes, and after it was over it dawned on us all...our trip was over...and all we had left to do in highschool was graduate. There were lots of tears and "I love you guys!" being exchanged, and it was areally close moment for my friends and I.

We have had a few there.

One of the best was we took our almost 2 year old daughter to Epcot. When in the England area we were in the book store where you can meet Tiger and Pooh and take pictures. Well no one else was in the store. Tiger and Pooh sat down at a table with our daughter and they all colored together. it was really neat to see the expression on our daughters face.

Another quick one was we were in the MK on the same trip. My father was there with my brothers family. My father calls me and says he saw one my friends from back home (NY). I thought nothing of it. Later that day we met up with our friends. We had NO idea they were going and they had no idea we were gong there either. This couple was in our wedding party years back so that is how close we are. We spent the rest of the day in the MK together and said we would get some dinner afterwards. We asked each other where were staying and guess what. SAME Hotel and "2" doors down the hall. Now if that is not "It's a small world" then I do not know what is.
