Where to stay Contemporary, Polynesian or Grand Floridian?

Next year we are planning a trip and want to make it easy for my MIL shes in a wheelchair. I think the monorail would be great, but we have never stayed at any of these resorts.
So any advice would be greatly appreciated. Tell me what you liked and disliked about any of the 3.
We have 4 kids- and at the time they will be 6,5,3,and 15mos.

Thanks!

I would go with the Contemporary and if you can afford it I would go with a Tower room, no matter if it's the Magic Kingdom or Bay Lake View. Since you stated your MIL will be in a wheelchair staying in one of their Tower rooms would be great because everything like you're room, restaurants, stores and lobby and lobby are located all in one location. Plus on the 4th floor there is a special elevator just for people in wheelchairs that goes to the Monorail station. Besides that all the room rates at the Contemporary are the least expensive when you compare the rates for the Polynesian and Grand Floridian.

I agree with CR Resort Fan 4 Life, I would suggest Contemporary b/c if you stay in the Tower rooms its easy getting around and your kids will enjoy the resort as well. We are planning our first stay in CR (well my son and I, my husband stayed there when he was young).

I'm going to say the Polynesian. With 4 kids, the Polynesian is great. There's the Neverland Club which my kids could never get enough of. They loved the pool and Ohanas. Plus if you are going to some place besides MK, it's a fairly quick walk to the Ticket and Transportation Center to catch the Epcot Monorail or a bus to someplace else.

I agree, and your MIL and your kids in strollers could easily use the walkway to the MK which takes only about 10 minutes.

CR rules!

For us the Contemporary is always our first pick. We have stayed at the Poly and GF and both are really super, we just love the CR. We love walking to Magic Kingdom in the mornings and sometimes back later in the day if the monorail is crowded.

For ease of transportation for your MIL I would pick CR. It would be a lot easier IMO for her to get around at CR than it would for her at the Poly. The CM's at the CR are first rate too - the service is about as good as what you get at the Poly.

Besides, the Poly is just a short monorail stop away for dinner.

Sigh,
They're all so magical!

This year we stayed at a monorail resort for the first time, and it was very difficult to decide which one. Ultimately, we picked the Grand Floridian, and were thrilled with our stay there.

I've not stayed at the CR or Polynesian, but I've spent a lot of time at both, whether shopping, eating, or let's face it....drinking. (Anyone for a little "Around the World-Monorail Style?"). They are all so special.

I think it comes down to what you want your hotel to be like. The rooms in each resort are very similar in regards to their layouts and amenities, but they are decorated very differently.
Do you want a sleek, elegant, modern feeling hotel? Go Contemporary.
Do you want to feel like you're at a tropical getaway? Go Polynesian.
Do you want to feel pampered and elegant in an old-world style? Go Grand.

Let us know what you choose!

We're going to contemporary in October. Is it noisy to stay at the tower?

Is it easier to walk to MK than taking the monorail?

Honestly the Tower rooms are not noisy at all, although some people say just incase it's better to request a room away from Chef Mickey's. However I personally don't find them that bad, so it's a matter of personal opinion. As for going to the Magic Kingdom walking is going to be faster, however going back by Resort Monorail the Contemporary would be the next stop.

You might make an additional post on the Disabilities board to see what they say from the view point of an individual being in a wheelchair. We have stayed at all three monorail resorts and will say no matter which one you select you will have a great time. People normally select their resort based upon: location, budget, theme, room choice-view, transportation, etc.
