Talking 12-16 Whispering Canyon Who's still hungry? 21 days of Dining 'round the World w/pics

Hello! We are back from 21 days at the World and I am starting my second food report on DIS. The first week was at the fun POP Century resort, which we tried out for the first time. It was nice. The theming and huge structures were perfect photo ops and the gift shop was huge! The next two weeks were at AKV. This has become my favorite resort! It's a beautiful resort and being able to go outside to view the animals was so much fun. I would definitely enjoy staying here again.

The 3 weeks went by fast and now we're back home. I was actually worried that we'd have done everything already by the second week but there was so much to do that we still missed some attractions! I managed to take pictures of the meals for all of you DISers so those are included.

The cast is the same as last time.

C- Loves chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, and the Mickey cake at the Boardwalk is his favorite tradition. The only vanilla ice cream person of the family, though we all enjoy our Mickey bars!

D- If steak is on the menu, he will most likely order it.

M- Likes a variety of foods. Mostly burgers, pasta, steak.

G- G will come later on in the trip. He also likes a variety of foods. Big steak and fish lover.

I'm not the biggest steak fan but will eat it occasionally. I like pastas, anything that says chocolate, spicy foods, and some fish.

The restaurants we dined at:

I wish Beach Club Marketplace had more options. We stayed at the BC last summer for 2 weeks and all they had were a few sandwiches, salad, and clam chowder. It was a bit repetitive but the salad is so good.

Day 1: Everything pop/ earl of sandwich

EVERYTHING POP FOODCOURT

We arrived at POP around noon and the first thing that was asked was, obviously, "I'm hungry! Where's the food court?"

When we checked in, they were ready to give us a room in the 90s building. I thought it was too far and asked for them to see if they had any other room available. They had a 50s room but it would be available at 3. Okay, no problem. We went over to the Food Court to eat.

After staying at the Beach Club, I was surprised by all the food options at Everything POP! There were so many stations, each with different foods, and then the back was a whole wall of desserts! Beach Club had a few sandwiches and some clam chowder. Obviously not used to the choices, we walked around to check out all the food.

I liked how there are pictures of the food so you know what you're going to eat. I thought the Reuben Flatbread looked really good, but then I read the ingredients and decided against it. Not sure if I would like all that Swiss.

Instead, I went over to the Pizza and Pasta area and ordered the Chicken Penne Alfredo - $8.39. This was SO good. They give you a very generous portion of tender, juicy chicken which tastes great under all that creamy alfredo sauce they pour on top of your pasta. They also give you a piece of garlic bread. It wasn't an overwhelming garlic flavory. Actually, I could hardly taste it. But, nonetheless, the soft bread was fine (especially when dipped in the alfredo sauce!)

D wanted a Meatball Sub with Salad - $8.29. He took one bite and exclaimed "This is good! You should try it." So, M, decided to order the Meatball Sub. They both loved it. It had a good amount of cheese that melted under the meatballs. I figured that even if the food isn't hot, there's always a microwave by the soda fountain so you can heat up your food as much as you want.

For dessert we ordered two Tie-dyed Cheesecake - $3.59 and one Yogurt Parfait - $3.79. The Tie-dyed Cheesecake was amazing. I loved the colors. They definitely fit into POP's fun theme. Underneath it was a layer of what seemed like red velvet cake. It was also good; soft and moist. I would've thought that with all the dyes, the cheesecake wouldn't taste as good but it really was. C helped finish up the cheesecake. His meal came with chocolate pudding and apple sauce.

Close up of the layers:

Yogurt Parfait - $3.79

C had a Cheese Pizza - $4.99. It was so small! He ate all of the pizza and chocolate pudding but left the applesauce.

After eating, we went around the gift shop. I took a few pictures of snack credit options and other foods there.

The most delicious cookies ever- Minnie's Bake Shop (Selma's)

We had so many of these over the vacation. There are three left right now. Two white chocolate chip and one raspberry white chocolate. My favorite one is the chocolate supreme while my least favorite is the peanut butter. Melt them in the microwave!

Peanut butter chocolate chip:

This one is really good. There's a lot of gooey chocolate in the middle and the peanut butter was great- not too much like in the Peanut butter cookie. That one felt like I was eating a tub of peanut butter!

Some more cookies. These are like animal crackers. C likes them. We tried the bag of graham crackers all the way on the bottom shelf. They were pretty good, too.

Mickey Coffee:

We all love the Mickeyroni and Cheese. I think we brought about 12 of them home in a box. They're white cheddar so they taste a bit different from your average mac.

Popcorn/snacks:

I've wanted to pick up a bag of the caramel chocolate popcorn but we never did..

Chip and Dale snacks:

We like the party mix (blue bag on top shelf.)

Continued in next post..

Day 1: Earl of Sandwich

EARL OF SANDWICH

We stopped by the Earl of Sandwich around 6PM. It was raining a bit in Downtown Disney, so we figured that by the time we were done it would stop.

I wanted a sandwich because I love the bread here, but I was still full and didn't think I'd eat that much. We paid OOP for this meal. M, D, and I had a Broccoli and Cheddar soup- $2.95. Very creamy with some small chunks of broccoli but nothing too big. I don't like finding the whole stalk in a spoonful, so that wasn't an issue.

It came with some oyster crackers.

D ordered The Original 1762 - fresh roasted beef, cheddar and creamy horseradish sauce. $5.75

Closeup:

Last year at Earl of Sandwich, D ordered the Full Montague and I ordered the Original. We split them both and found out that I liked his sandwich better and he liked mine better. So, this year he got his own Original. He ate it all. Looking at the sandwich, I think I definitely could've eaten it. They're actually a bit small. I was fine with my soup, though.

M ordered the Chicken Caesar wrap - grilled chicken, mixed greens, fresh croutons, tossed in classic Caesar dressing with parmesan cheese . $5.95

I took a 1/4 and tried it. I didn't like it, however. You can order any of the Salads and Wraps options as a salad bowl or a sandwich wrap. I think would have worked better as a chicken caesar salad, but M liked it.

I think I liked the snack photos best, too!
I kept "shopping" in my mind.

I like Earl of Sandwich, too. There's one on the Las Vegas Strip, as well.
