Am i missing a must see???
Thought i would ask the experts as we are taking our first trip to Florida this Oct/Nov and I am trying to fit in as much as i can with of course some flex/down days.....
Does it look like i have covered all the fireworks/shows at WDW? Oct 30-3 in Clearwater and also going to Busch Gardens Nov 3 - down day to return to Orlando and check into rental house Nov 4 - Universal Nov 5 - Discovery Cove Nov 6 - Daytona 500 Experience Nov 7 - Seaworld Nov 8 - NFL Football Game Nov 9 - Down day possibly shopping/waterpark Nov 10 - Animal Kingdom (adult nephew wants to see this park) Nov 11 - Universal or Flex day Nov 12 - down day (nephew flies home) Nov 13 - Epcot (illuminations) Nov 14 - Kennedy Space Center Nov 15 - Free day Nov 16 - Disney Studios (Fantasmic) Nov 17 - any Disney park Nov 18 - Magic Kingdom (Wishes) Nov 19 - any Disney park Nov 20 - Down day Nov 21 - travel home On our down days we thought we could go shopping, DTD, waterpark if nice out or just relax at the house by the pool or check out stuff on I95....just wanted some flexibility and relax time if needed. Our kids are 9, 11 and 14 so naps etc. are not necessary. We realize we wont see it all but want to make the most of our jouney to Florida. Anything we seem to be missing or any recommendations??? |

Wow! This is quite a trip. First, you start on Oct 30-3, is this Oct 31st or Nov 3rd?
I didn't check calendars, but your trip does overlap both special parties and fireworks show at MK. I assume there is a MNSSHP on Oct 30th and 31st. I am not sure if the 31st is the last one or not, but suspect it is. The Christmas parties start soon after the Halloween ones stop. Since you are in clearwater, I doubt you can make the Halloween party (Hallowishes), but likely could a Christmas party for Chirstmas Wishes. Again, I didn't check the calendar, but you should verify Fantasmic is on the night you are planning if you haven't already. |

We are in Clearwater Oct 30 to Nov 3rd so wont make the halloween party and as of yet have not planned on the Christmas party as have read mixed reviews on it so not sure if it is worth the extra expense or not for what we would get out of it....I did try to plan the days around the fireworks etc as we really want to see those, still looking for tips on where the best place to watch them etc are, but i am sure we will figure something out. |

Are you skipping Spectromagic, or are you doing that the same night as Wishes?

Wow - sounds like a wonderful 3-week trip. And it's good to see that you have plenty of 'free' and 'down time' in your schedule. What a fabulous vacation!!

Have you checked either the Unofficial Guide or TGM for the best days to go to which parks? Makes a big difference in crowds.

Wow! Looks like a great trip!
The only suggestion I have is that you may want to keep in mind that adding on days to a disney ticket is CHEAP once you've paid for the initial 3 or 4. Counting up your disney days, I *think* you have 6 day tickets? If that is the case, it only costs an additional $3 per day per person after that. So, you may want to allow more flexibility to your trip by adding a couple of days to your tickets and using them for partial park days on your down days. This is also helpful if one of your park days turns out to be bad weather that forces you to leave early or have a night show rained out. I'm not sure about this, but I think you can even upgrade the tickets once you are there if you find out that you need to. I'm sure there is info on these boards somewhere about that. Just wanted to let you know that this may be another option for you and it doesn't cost a lot extra. Have fun! |

Thanks so much for that suggestion, i will add it to my info book and we may end up doing that so the kids can see more disney earlier in our vacation. I was told we could add the waterparks etc to our tickets when we were down there but thought we would wait and see how the trip goes and how the weather is.....

Just keep in mind that tickets expire 14 days from the first use so be sure that you don't use them too early in your trip or they won't be good at the end since your trip is so long.

Wow! How lucky to be able to spend that much time in Orlando.
What tickets did you buy for Universal? Seems your visits span 8 days. You might want to batch those visits closer together and get the 7-day/2 park special for $99. ![]() Also, since this is your first visit, if you haven't already planned it...spend some time visiting the resorts, both WDW and USF. It's a great place to have dinner and dream of a return visit. Most importantly, don't worry about what you don't do. Enjoy what you are doing.

We have 2 park/2 day passes, cant see an expiry so will have to check into that...thanks for the suggestion.....
What exactly is there to see at the resorts if we are not staying there?? Do you not need to be a guest to access them? We wanted to stay on site but with 5-6 of us our 3 week rental was the same as 1 week at Disney and the kids ages make it difficult to share beds....... Quote:
