Watching Football in the World-where to go?

My dieheart football fan can not be without his football game while were are there in early Oct. So, where can I send him off on his own to watch the Ravens-Patriots game? Oh, he is 15 yrs old. Thanks!

The resort room is the best place for a 15 year old to see the game.
Will that specific game be available in Orlando?

There are no TV sets in any of the parks.

The ESPN Club at Boardwalk has lots of video screens with games, but I don't know about an underage kid being in there alone.

Same goes for the bars in the resorts.
There are TV's in some of the food courts, but I don't know
what the set in there would be showing at the time of a specific game.

Yes, if it's not the selected game on the local channel in Orlando, you could probably catch it at ESPNZone (well, not probably - I'm sure you can), but you're going to have to sacrifice your time to go with him. There are lots of kids in there with family - it's the most family-friendly sports bar/restaurant I've seen - but not right for a teenager by themself. In fact, Robo's probably right - they probably wouldn't let an unaccompanied minor in.

Thanks guys. That is what I was fearing. Oh well....one of us will be miserable that day!! Somehow, I do suspect it will be me. He has opted out of our last 2 trips due to some sporting event here in Baltimore. I am forcing him to go this time around. He has been very grumpy about missing football. I am telling him to get a dagone life, and appreciate what he is being offered!!!!! LOL

Take him to the ESPN Zone that day for lunch or dinner depending on when the game is...I have watched a number of sporting events there. Also I dont think its a terrible atmosphere for a 15 year old, there is a bar there, but there is also a restaurant on the left side as you walk in that is really cut off from the bar. I dont think the atmosphere there is any different then a TGI Fridays or Ruby Tuesdays or any other chain restaurant. If he is a big sports fan he will love eating there.

And on top of that, its actually a reasonably priced meal in my opinion, and the food is pretty good.

Thanks. If it is anything like the one in Baltimore, we will enjoy it. I just did not want to lose an afternoon in the parks. I will suck it up, and go eat some yummy appetizers. Was just being foolishly hopeful that some park, somewhere would have some hidden tv's. LOL

Ugh! It is terrible trying to find a channel at WDW that carries a football game we want to see. There used to be the All Star Sports Cafe at Wide World of Sports. It was great because they had every football game on 5 foot screens around the room and they had a radio at your table tuned in to which ever game you want to listen to and watch. The restaurant has been gone for a few years now. We try to watch the Chicago Bears but can never find a place to watch. We end up watching the highlights on ESPN in our room at night.
You could try ESPN Zone at the Boardwalk but on games days, they are VERY crowded and it's just not easy to sit and watch a game there.

We usually go to ESPN to catch a game or 2 when we're at WDW. They'll generally have all the games playing, with the biggies on larger/more screens.

Definitely plan to get there early if you want a seat! We've gotten there as much as an hour before game time and ended up having to stand in the bar most of the game.

ESPN Club is the place to go. I was there Saturday for appetizers and watched the Phillies/Mets game and UCLA/Tennessee game. And I might swing by there this Saturday night to see if they will be showing Auburn/WVU.

What cell phone plan do you have?! We use sprint and we have an all-inclusive type plan where my boyfriend will pull up the sound bites from the game, pop in his head phones and listen to it while we wait in line for the rides! I know it's not the same as actually WATCHING the game, but it's something! A nice compromise for you both!! I think there might even be an NFL channel on our Sprint TV.. I have no idea because I don't really use that feature all that often, but if you are interested I could ask my boyfriend!

LOL I am sure my son will be all purple and black....guess we will see who gets punked! LOL

Melissa- thanks for the suggestion. I am going to encourage him to bring in his laptop that can be left in a locker. He can go somewhere to watch it live if he desires. He has an application on his phone where he can catch NFL live as well. Not sure if he will be happy with this. He just is so driven to want to watch on the big screen. It really has taken everything I have to talk him into going with me and his brother. My husband is staying home with my daughter.

If you are talking about using a wifi signal, sorry to say there are none in the parks.

Sad but true. If you have an air card/service for the laptop you should be fine, but there's no WiFi at all (paid or otherwise) anywhere in the parks.
