Best time to visit during spring time??

Besides the obvious of not going during spring break time when is the best time to go during April or May as far as crowds and heat? Any information tips would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

I personally like the first week in May, its after the Spring Break rush, but before it gets too hot. The weather is warm, but perfect for waterparks and pools! It is also Flower and Garden, which is really nice to see at Epcot. I find the crowds tend to be lower the first week in May also.

We went the week of May 17 one year. Nice winds everyday. Temp in the 80s, not too bad. Almost no rain. With effective use of the fast pass, we usually waited about 15 minutes or less per ride.

My mom and I went in early May 2008 and had wonderful weather and moderate crowds. My DH and I went this past May 16-23rd. We found it VERY crowded with local school groups taking end of the year field trips and it poured horrendously the last 5 full days of the trip.

This year my GF and I went in mid-April and while it was a little crowded, it wasn't nearly as bad as it was earlier in the month when you have Spring Break and Easter Crowds.

As far as weather goes, it was actually cool some mornings headed to the parks but it would definately get warmer by late morning/early afternoon. At no point did it get so hot that it was uncomfortable.

Our trip next year is going to be the last week in April, and if it's the same level and weather as last year we will be very very happy.

First week of May...crowds aren't quite as light as the fall, but the weather is usually near-perfect. (I think this past year might have been rainy.)

January - mid-February: Light crowds, poor weather
Mid-February - Mid-April: Nicer weather, high crowds.
Late-April - Early-May: Nicest weather, moderate crowds
Mid-may: Southern schools and colleges start getting out and crowds build, plus weather starts getting a lot hotter.

I went this past May from the 17th-24th. Although it was rainy, we found the crowds to be very light. We walked on to almost everything!

Easter moves around and can be any time in March or April. When you went mid-April and missed Easter you were lucky, Easter is often IN mid-April.
Schools spring breaks are spread throughout March and April, with the week before and the week after Easter being the most crowded. As long as you get far enough away from Easter you should be okay, BUT you need to check the date of Easter for the year you are going!

Lots of schools have winter breaks in addition to spring. I agree with May being a good time to go. Here's a poll that should give you an idea of when schools have breaks. Please "vote" in the poll to let us know when your schools are on break. Thankx.

Just a heads up for those planning on the last week of April - its our school vacation week and WDW/Florida is a popular destination.

I went April 29 thru May 3 this year. I thought the crowds weren't bad at all (we normally go in June) and the weather was perfect. Not too hot yet.

If you haven't already done so--would you mind answering the poll in the above link/thread? Thanks.

We have been to WDW in May a few times and love it. It's defenitely our favorite time to go. The Flower and Garden festival is awesome. Crowds start out really low at the beginning of the month and build through Memorial day. I'd say by the middle of the 3rd week you can notice an increase in attendance. Weather wise, temps are in the upper 80's low 90's and I can notice the humitidy in the air.
