Has anyone been to Garden Grill recently?

Can you still see into the Land ride? Is it still turning? My dh is concerned b/c of the renovations to the ride. Thanks!

DW & I were there last week. The resturant is still turning even though Living With the Land is currently not opperational. You can still see into the areas where the ride is.

We do have a few notes about the menu:

-the steak is now a cabernet sauce, not the mushroom sauce it was previously. I found no real differance in the sauce...still very good.

-the mashed potatos are now seasoned and roasted. I like that better than mashed, but thats just me. DW didn't eat them beacuse she doesn't eat red meat and they were served under the steak.

-the fish changed to a FL citrus crusted mahi-mahi. DW & I both liked this more than the previous fish offering, the fried catfish. When we had the catfish it was good, but the breading was a bit soggy. The citrus crusted mahi-mahi was a welcomed change.

-the turkey, stuffing and cran-orange relish are unchanged, and still great.

-the dessert changed from the 2nd beast bread pudding on property to a blueberry buckle w/ freshly made vanilla whipped cream. I don't like blueberries, but DW does, and she was underwhelmed with the dessert. I opted for the kiddie dessert, worms & dirt.

As always, there are people who are walking through The Land pavillion trying to grab the attention of the characters, but thats to be expected. Once or twice we saw CM's need to ask kids to not run up to the characters if they weren't eating there. Nothing new to that either. Happy dining!

Also, DH above forgot to mention this, but as we were turning and viewing the ride we saw a couple of guys scraping sludge off the bottom of the waterway into a bucket. Yummy

thanks for the info! it's exactly what I wanted to know. Dh had been asking for years to go here and it's the first time it worked out so he was bummed when I told him the news about the ride. He'll be happy to hear things are still working.

Yummy about the sludge - if I see it, I'll pretend it's chocolate . . .

Just wanted to let y'all know we ate there Sunday. The restaurant still rotates and you can see the ride - they have the same lights on that they do when teh ride is going. Character interaction was some of the best I have ever seen and we really enjoyed the food!

Ditto. We ate there for my birthday on the 16th and the food was delicious, but we have always liked GG. The characters were great too!

We are eating there for the first time in December, and out of all of the character meals that we have booked (6), this is one that my DH and I are most excited about. We love the fact that the restaurant rotates and Chip & Dale are there....my DD8 is a huge fan of the two guys, and has no idea that we are dining here , plus the food looks awesome...I am not a big fan of blueberries either (unless they are in muffins), so I may opt for the kids dessert as well. Does anyone know when the renovations are going to be done to the Land? Not a big deal, just curious.

Thank you for keeping us updated.

I'm really looking forward to eating dinner there. And I'm strangely nervous about the character interaction!
