Fig Goes Sig and Food & Wine

Continuing with Fig Goes Sig (and Food and Wine)

Boma (breakfast, 10/28/11)

Frunch - mixture of lemonade, pineapple juice, guava juice, orange juice, and papaya juice. Figment really likes Frunch!

A little bit of a lot of things - quinoa porridge (bowl on the right), fresh fruit (bowl on top), and ham, bacon, sausage and biscuit skillet, and bobotie (on the plate).

Another plate!

Tutto Italia (lunch, 10/28/11)
Entrees

Insalata della Casa con Pollo (chicken salad)

PLT Panino Sandwich (prosciutto, lettuce, and tomato sandwich) - Figment liked the prosciutto!

Lasagna al Forno

Desserts

Copetta Sotto Bosco - Figment liked this fancy ice cream sundae!

Sorbet (no sugar added raspberry) - It was pretty tart, but still yummy.

Jiko (dinner, 10/28/11)
Appetizers

Bread with cumin dusted butter

Taste of Africa - two spicy and two mild dips - the spicy ones were really hot, but the mild ones were kind of bland

Inguday Tibs - Figment liked the crunchy little pockets of veggies and cheese

Grilled Wild Boar Tenderloin - the meat reminded Figment of the buffalo at Artist Point; very lean

Entrees

Grilled Wild Gulf Shrimp Curry - Figment said it had a bite to it

Oak-Grilled Filet Mignon - the meat was well cooked, but Figment didn't really care for the South African Cabernet reduction sauce

Braised Beef Short Rib - the meat had good flavor and was very tender

Dessert

Creamy Madagascar Vanilla Cheesecake

Warm Peach Torte

One Last Cup - This was Figment's favorite item at Jiko. The "Tanzanian Chocolate and Kenya Coffee Mousse with cinnamon mascarpone" was really yummy!

Coming next time...Raglan Road and Citricos
