Battle of the Beefs

There are so many wonderful things to try at Disney World but as much as we'd like to stray from our go-to dishes at these two restaurants the idea of missing out on these butter-tender filets kills us and we cave every time.

Behold the beefy beauty!!

Last night's gorgeous – and I do mean gorgeous – filet mignon from Narcoossee's:

Last night they added truffles. Not just truffle oil, several luscious shavings of actual truffles. There is a God.

This morning's double filets with frittata and fingerling potatoes from the Grand Floridian Cafe:

The herb sauce makes this glorious breakfast. Especially when you've had a couple of key lime martinis the night before at Narcoossee's and need a hearty start to the day.

We are rolling around the parks, I swear.

ESPN lunch Oct 21

Hot wings

I had the turkey on whole grain bread with mixed greens, cranberry mayo and brie. I asked them to leave off the brie and when they brought it to me I took a picture first and then noticed the cheese was on it so they had to make another one. We had the side of cucumber salad but neither of us liked it because it was so sweet

Kouzzina Dinner Oct 21

Sangria

We were brought out fresh soft bread and 2 types of oil and some olives.

Greek Salad

I had the Kouzzina sampler for 2, hummus, olives, oil, fresh pita, domalades, spiced nuts, lamb meatball, pork souvlaki and tzaziki sauce.

pork tenderloin, leave off the feta gremolata, with a zucchini corn pie and corn and bean mixture.

loukoumades or Greek Donuts and knew that since we were there we might as well try them....they are little donuts that are covered in honey and cinnamon and served with a raspberry and chocolate sauce to dip in.

Main Street Bakery breakfast. FYI, I was told on the boards here that breakfast CS on the DDP would include a croissant, pastry & drink. That is not the case, at least not anymore. It is now a pastry, piece of fruit & drink. Or a croissant, piece of fruit and drink. Both the sandwich and cinnamon roll were delicious.

My apologies on the blurriness of these 2 photos. DH dropped the camera and it just went down hill from these photos. Ended up taking most of our photos with our droid phones. I'll post those later.

WCC
- basically a bit of everything off the skillet (salad & corn bread were earlier). I didn't care for this meal at all. The food was extremely smokey tasting and fatty.

WCC for the vegetarian kid... the choices were mac n cheese or grilled cheese. I tried his mac n cheese when he wouldn't eat it and it was atrocious. Honestly, it had NO flavor at all. Note to people contemplating order cinnamon apples for their kiddos--- they are not baked cinnamon apples like you'd think (or at least like I assumed ). They are super tart raw green apples dusted with cinnamon. Our waitress said everyone that orders them seems to assume the same as me and she almost always has to trade them out for the cookies. (We were trying to limit the sugar. 2 desserts a day on the dining plan, not including snack credits used for sweet treats, is way too much IMO)

Grand Floridian Cafe

GFC. We had horrible service, but the food was wonderful.

Caramelized Onion Soup Gratinee- could have eaten nothing else and been in heaven. This was amazing!

Bone In New York Strip - House mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and Bordelaise. Had them hold the Bordelaise.

Dessert Sampler - from left to right: key lime tart, Boston creme pie, solid chocolate Mickey, berry tart and lemon cheesecake.
