Live broadcast from the Parks starting 9/30

A few trips ago we had a live cam streaming from the Boardwalk Villas and it was a great success. We had a few nights of Illuminations broadcasting, DW and I took you on a tour of our 1 bedroom Villa, and we caught some performances on the Boardwalk. By the end of the trip we had a full room and a lot of great people chatting.

This past trip I started a Twitter account and kept a photo time line of our trip as it happened.

Starting late September thirtieth and running through October Sixth there will be a live 24 hour stream broadcasting from the Beach Club Villas. The website is uStream (link below) and there is a chat room along with the video to get up to date info. As of now I am going to request a high floor room facing Epcot. This way we can catch some of Illuminations. We're not sold on that location yet so any suggestions are appreciated. We are getting in late on September 30th, so im not sure what kind of room selection we will even have.

In addition to the live feed from our room we will also be broadcasting LIVE from the parks. There is a service called qik (link below) that allows you stream video from your cell phone directly to the internet LIVE. When you start recording the video starts online and viewers can instantly watch what you are doing. This feed obviously wont run constantly, but we stocked up on batteries and will try to keep it on as much as possible. I am trying to come up with something that allows me to wear the phone around my neck and stay straight. This way I can just hit record when we get onto an attraction like the Jungle Cruise and not have to worry about it.

And lastly Twitter ties everything together. Every time a qik broadcast ends it is immediately posted to Twitter. All the updates that we will post in the park will go through Twitter so feel free to sign up (link below).

Alright, I figured I would toss up an itinerary. This will give you an idea of what will be streamed to qik each day. If you are on the qik website you will see the stream start as soon as I hit record on my phone, it is instantaneous and live. I just picked up a Samsung Omnia, so the picture quality from Disney should be much better then what's on the qik site now (it has the best camera of any phone on Verizon). Im not sure how good the video will be on dark rides. I doubt you will see much on an attraction like the Haunted Mansion, but at least you will be able to hear the hitchhiking ghosts.

Also if you are following our Twitter, a link will be posted there as soon as a new stream has finished.

Itinerary:

9/30 - Our flight doesn't leave Philly until 7pm. If all goes well we should be checked into our room by 10pm or so. The uStream feed should start by 11pm.

10/1 - The first park we do on every trip is The Magic Kingdom. This will also be the first MNSSHP that we attend. This party will be focused more on rides and shopping for DW. Although we will try to get to Snow White when the party first starts for a photo op.

10/2 - This is going to be the second MNSSHP of the trip. This party will be focused more on the characters, fireworks and parade. We have a ressie for the Wishes Desert Party, so the view should be good.

10/3 - This one may not be for the kids....this is our Universal HHN night. We plan on getting to US around 4 for a bite to eat. We meet our RIP Tour director at 7pm at the front gate.

10/4 - Food & Wine.....yummy! This being our first F&W festival we didn't sign up for any classes or seminars. I figured we would soak in the festival this trip and not overload ourselves. This will also be our first opportunity to hit JellyRolls!

10/5 - DW finally gets to see Donald at the Cape May Character Breakfast. After that we will either be heading over to DHS or back to Epcot for some more F&W. We may start in DHS and hop on a Friendship and head over to Epcot, we haven't decided yet. Hopefully we can hit JellyRolls again tonight. There is no recording in JellyRolls, so these updates will only include pictures.

Anyway, thats about enough rambling for tonight. I look forward to the trip and hopefully we can get a few viewers and make this a success. I should also add that these sites are obviously free. You don't even need to sign up for them, just click the link and see the video.
