Bummer, maybe

So I decided on a last-minute trip to DL, not next week, but the week after. It just happens to correspond with my hometown baseball team (*cough*LETSGOYANKEES*cough*) playing the Angels.

It wasn't until today that I saw how much will be closed at DL, most notably, two holiday overlays: HMH and SMH? I searched some of the threads, and it looks like there's not much info on SMH, but I also saw it may only take like five days to outfit. When is that starting? I arrive on Monday the 21st... Any chance on a four-day visit I may see the new overlay, or am I there at just the absolute wrong time?

So a bummer that two great rides will be down. Casey Jr. and Storybook Land Canal Boats too, but at 34 and solo, I can miss those and be happy.

But on the other hand, right now I just need to get away. If this means less running around and perhaps more time relaxing at the pool, the animation station or somewhere else, maybe this will be a blessing in disguise.

I wonder what the record is for just sitting on the DLRR.

I don't think Haunted Mansion has opened early with the overlay yet...and from the calendar on disneyland.com, it looks like Space is slated to open on the 25th. It's *possible* that could open a day early, but they've never done this to Space before so I wouldn't bet on it.

I would, however, bet on a fabulous, wonderful, relaxing solo trip! Have a wonderful time!
