Just making sure I've got the ADR thing down.

This is my first post here at the Dis. My sis is a Diser and got me hooked on the boards. In fact, I'm sure she'll see my post before the day is out.

It's up to me to make the ADRs for our GG this xmas. I arrive on 12/25 with my immediate family, but the rest of my party arrives on 12/24. Our 90/10 day is in two weeks (9/25). I'm the only one in the party with the day off and the only one that my sister trusts to make them aside from herself. Can you say pressure to get decent ADRs! I made her ADRs for xmas 2yrs ago b/c she was on a cruise at the time. I did well, but that was pre DIS and TGM, so her park days weren't set in stone. Last year she made her ADRs based on TGM's least crowded day predictions so that they could mesh with what park they planned on being in. She and I plan on making our ADRs based on this formula again.

I've been reading some real horror stories of having very little, if nothing, to choose from. I feel like getting good ADRs is consuming my thoughts!

What I seem to be finding is that:

1. We need to be flexible with our times.

2. We need to have back up restaurants and back ups for our back up restaurants.

3. We need to be willing to accept that we may get few, if any, in the park ADRs.

4. We need to be willing to call back frequently, esp around our 45 day mark to see if anything has opened up.

One thing that seems to be a little confusing is what number to make our ressies with. When my sister booked our GG, the CM told her to book our ADRs using the GG phone number. So, I called that number and via the automated menu, got connected to the regular WDW DINE line. I called back and spoke directly to a GG CM and confirmed that is exactly where the automaded GG menu sends you. She said that for booking ADRs, it doesn't matter which line I call b/c it will take me to the same place.

Another thing that is agrivating, is that other than calling WDW DINE and asking them restaurant by restaurant, there is no way to know in advance what the max party size is b/f having to call the restaurant directly.

I think I'm going to need a drink after I'm done making my ADRS!

Wish me luck.......

I've looked at the online system and all of the resaurants that I looked at said you needed to call the phone system for parties of 10 or more. With the exception of the first night, our party is 11.
