Good morning fantasyland breakfasts?

Does DLRP still do these? When we went in Jan 2007, you could have your breakfast in the park, before it opened if you stayed in a resort hotel. The rides were open by the time you finished and it meant you always got a few rides in before the crowds, useful for Dumbo and things like that.

Can't find any reference to it, so has it been stopped?

It does still exist but you cant book it in advance now - you have to ask at check in at reception. If you phone and ask about it you will be told it stopped several years ago. I think it may have changed its name as dropped the fantasyland bit as its often held in the Plaza Gardens now.
It is subject to availibility and only available for guests of Santa Fe, Cheyenne, S Lodge and I think NPBay

Because of EMH you dont get the same advantage of getting on rides early as the breakfast starts at the same time as EMH opens but what we have done sometimes is book one for 9.00/9.30 - Do EMH for an hour when he park is quietest then as it starts to get busy had breakfast and then you are still ready for ropedrop to other lands at 10

Ah, okay. Thanks. Doesn't look like it will be relevant this time then as we're hopefully staying at Davy Crocketts. (More than two kids and it's SO limiting, at least until they are old enough to go in a room on their own.)

Breakfast at DC is different anyhow. You collect a breakfast picnic from a little hut at the end of your trail and eat it back in your cabin. There is info and pics of this in the hotel sticky.

Its good as you can have breakfast in peace and quiet or use the stuff for lunch instead.

Thanks. I'd always looked on DC as the poor man's disney hotel, but beginning to see how the practicalities of it might be really good for us. I'm hoping (very hard) that our agent will change our booking to DC today......oh, and while I'm at it, might as well add another night, eh?
Well, the free dining alone for 4 nights will save us 421 Euros, the hotel and passes are only just over £500. It's a no brainer, really.

No, GMFB takes place on non-EMH days too.

Others seem to have been lucky on non-EMH days in the past, in that rides have opened early (before 10am) and they've been able to combine their GMFB with some early rides with no queues.

I've had GMFB twice on non-EMH days, and we weren't so lucky. They did start up some of the rides before 10am, but we only got on one (the carousel) before 10am, the CMs at all the others said they were only testing the rides, and were not allowing any guests on until 10am.

EMH - Extra Magic Hours - when the park is open for 2 extra hours for guests staying in a disney hotel (usually 8-10am)

GMFB - the breakfast being discussed here - in the park instead of your hotel

CM - Cast members - what disney employees are known as

This sounds great, how much does the breakfast cost? Would this be a character breakfast? Does anyone know?

It didn't cost anything. It was basicaly an identical breakfast to that you get at the hotels, just in the Au chalet de Marionnette cafe instead of at the hotel. No characters, but it meant you were in Fantasyland before the general public got in, and by the time breakfast had finished a number of the rides were opening.

It was only for people staying at NPB and SL, Cheyenne and Santa Fe and the DLH has its own character breakfast anyway. You did have to reserve places well in advance. We went twice during our visit, we could have booked it for every morning had we wanted to.
