Do you take a break day?
Whew!
We got here last Thur and hit the ground running. Got in at 3pm and went strait to a park. We have been going, going, going Thur-Tue and then this am DH took the older kids to the water parks. We are beat and are not motivated to go out today at all! To be honest, the crowds have been so low that we have already done everhything, and many things multiple times We leave Fri am so I do want to fit in another good day. I am just too old to keep going constantly I think! Dawn

We usually plan a day off mid-way through the trip and a couple of shorter days as well. It's too hard on my old body (almost to the mid-40 line) to go day-after-day.

No we don't, but we pay for it at the end of the trip. We are exhausted and go away saying next time we will take a down day, but we keep going like the energizer bunny next trip too. This year, I am making an effort to plan it out for a down day or less intense day. On Wednesday of our vacation week, my DH and DS's are going to go to the Kennedy Space Center during the day, while my DD and I go to CRT for lunch. We will sleep in as late as we want and start/end our day leisurely. We will swim and enjoy the campfire at Fort Wilderness and go to bed early.

We used to take a day off but we realized after 5 days it cost almost nothing to add more days so we always have the option of going into the parks everyday. We almost never miss a day with at least some time in the parks but we go slow and sometimes spend a few hours and take a break and head back out for dinner.

We will be taking a break mid-way through our trip (9 days) We plan to sleep in, swim at the resort, then have reservations that evening at Downtown Disney. We will still be doing something but it will be a much slower pace then the rest of the days.

Hi
We take a break in the middle of the week if we're staying 7 nights. We only stayed 5 nights in August, and we were on the go the whole time. It's exhausting. I told my family to go ahead one morning and I'd meet up with them in Epcot. (I'll be 60 in November) I like having a break. I guess it depends on how much stamina you have!!

We've been to Disneyland once and Disney World once and did not take a break either time. We were exhausted by the end of the week. This trip, I have planned a day off in the middle. We will do Ohana for breakfast and HDDR for dinner and probably just swim or take naps in between, maybe hit DTD after breakfast. I think our last 2 days in the parks will be better if we can get a break in the middle. Realisitically, even though the kids would probably take naps in the afternoon, I can't see us taking time to go back to the hotel every day and then coming back in the evening, especially with the shortened park hours. So we will try to recharge our batteries with the break day.

We didnt last time, but that was a 5day trip. This time we are taking one on Saturday (the middle day of our trip). We headed to the park during off season on a saturday and it was SUPER crowded last time, so thats why we are taking that day off.
On our down day we will be doing breakfast at Ohana, then back to the hotel for College Football on TV (lol), then Dinner at Chef Mickey's, and then Downtown Disney. While its not a do nothing day it is still a break from the parks.

We go seven days, generally. We can do the parks in five or so. Add a waterpark day. Do a final day of favorites
We don't take a break day, but we don't move very fast on the days we are there. We've been enough that we don't need to. |

We usually only do 5 or 6 night packages when we go. We don't take full days off from the parks but we do schedule some days when we only go from rope drop until lunch time. On those days, once we head back to the resort, we are done with the parks for the day. One those days, depending on our mood, we either stay at the resort to swim and catch up on sleep or we have an early dinner at DTD and do some shopping.

We usually stay 6 days/nights. We always hit MK on the day we arrive and stay until we just have to leave. The other days we just go whenever we happen to get up, come back in the afternoon for a nap/rest period, clean up and go again until we are ready to head back. Our days are never scheduled so much as we have to get up and be anywhere for anything except ADR's and those are generally during the afternoons. We get to do everything we set out to do each trip but at a different pace than most people. I wish I was one of those people that could get up and make it to Rope Drop every morning...from what I've read on here I am definately missing out on that!

We took a mid week break day on our 7 night trip in May. It was much needed and we were so relaxed that day. We did go to DTD and rent a boat, but it was not rushed. We were so glad we took that day, even the kids were relieved.
Our next trip will be in August, and seeing how it will be extremely HOT, we'll definitely plan a day off but we'll also plan a few "light" days, so we don't wear out before the week is done.

We have two little boys age 4 and under so we take a break for "rest time" every day. Last trip, we didn't have a break day, and we paid for it. The boys ended up having a melt down per say on one day, so this trip, we are not going to the park on Wednesday. We have ADR's for Cape May breakfast and 1900 Park Fare for supper, and we plan on just swimming and playing in between. We don't really worry about doing it all in one trip so it isn't a big deal to us. We just want our little guys to enjoy their trip. Besides, we will be back in November so we can do anything we miss this time then.

We took a midweek break because the kids just wanted to swim and I needed to do laundry. We went to DTD too. We all felt better the next day because we were rested and ready to go
![]() My Mom and Aunt went and didn't take a break, but they didn't have kids with and they slept in every morning, staying out late... and they have been to WDW so many times, they feel it's OK to do the parks slowly. (Old ladies! )
