Need Party Decorating Ideas - The DIS Discussion Forums

I need help with table decorating ideas for a high school dinner. The students will come dressed as famous couples and I think that it would be interesting to decorate each table differently. Can any of you creative DISers help with table ideas?

Are we talking current famous couples or something like James Dean and Marilyn Monroe?

I know Party City in NJ, has a section for a Hollywood Party, they even had a Red Carpet, it was about $20. My sister had something similar for her recent Birthday. She turned 19 and had everyone come all dressed up and they took cute pictures and things like that.

They sold "Oscars" maybe you could buy 1 for each table and make something else to go with it? Maybe you could use the "Oscar" and like Star Magazine something cute like that. Oh and if you need old ones......I have a ton and wouldn't mind sending them to you. Otherwise they will just go in the recycling. Just a thought. PM if you would like me to send them to you!

Oh and another thought is you could have famous movie quotes all over the room or on the tables.

The students can come as any famous couple, current or older. Even though they aren't restricted to movie couples, my first thought is to decorate each table with a different movie theme. I can't really think of anything else. Of course, you could decorate a table for JFK and Jackie with a presidental theme.

Thanks for the offer of magazine covers. I'll let you know if we decide to go that route.
