Honeymoon Help--> December 22-30

OK, so my DF (soon to be DW) are getting married on December 19. We then leave for our WDW Honeymoon on December 22. We are staying at the Port Orleans: Riverside and have opted to do the Deluxe Dining Plan (we wanted to try the fancier places). Between the two of us, I am the major planner and organizer, even with wedding details. She hates planning and likes to be given choices and options and then will make a decision. I have made a rough outline of the parks we want to visit on what days and ADR's I plan on making when the 90 day window opens up. I was hoping to get some feedback regarding these ideas. I'm open to changes, I just want this to be a very memorable trip for the two of us.

December 22
Going to Downtown Disney via boat at PO: Riverside
Make ADR for T-Rex at Downtown Disney for Lunch (this will be out-of-pocket since the plan doesn't work)
Go shopping
Make ADR for Cap’n Jacks at Downtown Disney for Dinner

December 23
Go to Hollywood Studios
Make ADR for Sci-Fi Diner for Lunch
Visit Osbourne Family of Lights at Hollywood Studios at 6pm
Make ADR for Flying Fish Café for Dinner at Boardwalk Inn

December 24
Go to Epcot Make ADR for Akershus Royal Banquet Hall for Breakfast
Make ADR for Le Cellier for Lunch
Make ADR for Candlelight Processional for Chefs de France for Dinner
Stay for Illuminations

December 25
Go to Animal Kingdom
Make ADR for Yak & Yeti for Lunch
Stay for Jingle Jungle Parade at 3:45pm
Leave Animal Kingdom
Visit various resorts that have decorations
Make ADR for California Grill at Contemporary Resort at 9:15pm
Try to watch fireworks from restaurant

December 26
Go to Magic Kingdom
Make ADR for Cinderella Castle Breakfast at 9:30am
Make ADR for Liberty Tree Tavern for Lunch
Make ADR for Tony’s Town Square for Dinner
Stay for Spectromagic and Wishes

December 27
Go to Animal Kingdom
Make ADR for Donald’s Safari Breakfast at 8am
Leave around noon
Go to Hollywood Studios
Make ADR for 50s Prime Time Café for Lunch
Make ADR for Jiko for Dinner at Animal Kingdom Lodge

December 28
Go to Epcot
Make ADR for Coral Reef for Lunch
Make ADR for O’hana for Dinner at Polynesian Resort

December 29
Go to Magic Kingdom
Leave Magic Kingdom around noon
Go to Epcot
Make ADR for Rose and Crown for Lunch
Make ADR for Narcoossee’s at Grand Floridian for Dinner

December 30
Depart back home

Thanks for the help!

Because I had my honeymoon (& wedding) in Disney and because I'm a self proclaimed Disney foodie, I'm going to give it my best shot here

December 22
Going to Downtown Disney via boat at PO: Riverside
Make ADR for T-Rex at Downtown Disney for Lunch (this will be out-of-pocket since the plan doesn't work) **This is fun **
Go shopping
Make ADR for Cap’n Jacks at Downtown Disney for Dinner **Have never been to Cap'n Jacks but have been to Wolfgang Pucks and it is TDF**

December 23
Go to Hollywood Studios
Make ADR for Sci-Fi Diner for Lunch **Get a shake**
Visit Osbourne Family of Lights at Hollywood Studios at 6pm
Make ADR for Flying Fish Café for Dinner at Boardwalk Inn

December 24
Go to Epcot Make ADR for Akershus Royal Banquet Hall for Breakfast
Make ADR for Le Cellier for Lunch
Make ADR for Candlelight Processional for Chefs de France for Dinner **I'd swap out dinner and lunch - Le Cellier dinner is IMHO the best dinner in all of Disney - cheddar cheese soup and mushroom filet = perfect meal**
Stay for Illuminations

December 25
Go to Animal Kingdom
Make ADR for Yak & Yeti for Lunch **yummy!**
Stay for Jingle Jungle Parade at 3:45pm
Leave Animal Kingdom

Make ADR for Tony’s Town Square for Dinner **SKIP IT, very subpar Italian - Highly recommend Crystal Palace for dinner - their buffet is outstanding AND you meet Piglet & Pooh But if you must do Tony's - swap out dinner and lunch and to LTT for dinner**
Stay for Spectromagic and Wishes

December 27
Go to Animal Kingdom
Make ADR for Donald’s Safari Breakfast at 8am

Go to Epcot
Make ADR for Coral Reef for Lunch **Yum!**

Both plans look pretty darn good to me. I wish my DH was more into the Disney thing I can't get him to talk about anything Disney, he thinks I'm a nut. Guess what I don't care.

1. Make sure that you make your dining rsevations at the very earliest opportunity.

2. Cut down on thoughts of Park Hopping.

The turnstile master computer at each park keeps track of both entries and exits. When a park capacity closes (which is done in stages) there has to be a certain number of people exiting, with the total "in park" below a certain number, before they start allowing people in again.

I am low enough on the totem pole that I have no idea what these numbers are.

There are four stages to park closing:

Stage 1 - The parking lot entrance is closed. You can only access the park if you are using Disney Transportation.

Stage 2 - The ticket windows are all closed (and the automated Ticket Vending Machines are turned off). Unless you already have a ticket you cannot get in.

Stage 3 - Only people with Annual Passes or current Resort IDs will be allowed in.

Stage 4 - Nobody is allowed in.

Note - having restaurant reservations in a park, even with written proof, will not override a stage closing for you.

Also, if you are staying at a Disney owned and operated Resort and have a ticket, you are guaranteed entry into A park. Not necessarily the one you want (unless you want to go into AK). And if you have entered and left a park and do not have a hopper you may not get into anything.

WOW!! Where to start!

IMHO, you have waaaaaaaayyyyy too many ADRs planned. It's your Honeymoon, you need to stop and smell the roses! Disney has so many wonderful places to eat, I can understand your ambition! I agree too, that, that much park hopping is going to be rough, especially with ADRs driving you.

Please go on the Wedding and Honeymoon planning thread on this board, you will get so many good ideas!

I do agree that Le Cellier would be a better dinner experience vs lunch. Also, a tip (though I'll probably get flamed!) Book for 4 people, because the tables for two are DINKY. We ordered appitizers for our meal back in May, and were constantly trying to rearrange stuff, because the table was so small it didn't all fit!! It was not a very good experience.

Also, if you guys like to celebrate with a little "bubbly", order the Magical (It's a sparkling wine and delicious!)

If you like buffets, IMOHO, Crystal Palace can't be beat at the MK.

You'll love Ohanas! Be sure to book it early enough that you can find a hammock on the Poly beach afterwards and snuggle up to watch Wishes!!

I have a lot of thoughts, but too little time right now!! Some other things that might be nice and romantic: catch a show at Cirque Du Sole...Segway tour at EPCOT.

Good luck!

So today was my 90-day window and living on the west coast, I woke up at 3:30am to get prepared for my "magical" conversation with Disney ADR's. The last few days were all about discussing with my soon-to-be wife where we wanted to go every day and cut down some breakfast so we would have time for everything. The comments on the board and this thread proved very beneficial. Made sure I never park-hopped and left parks and a decent hour and dinner at a decent hour to be prepared for early mornings. And I look forward to hearing any more feedback and if I should make any changes. So here's what I was able to snag this morning...

Tuesday, December 22
we arrive around 2pm and should be checked in and ready for Magic Kingdom around 4:30pm
ADR- Cinderella's Royal Table for Dinner

Wednesday, December 23
Hollywood Studios
ADR- Sci-Fi Diner for Lunch
ADR- Flying Fish Cafe for Dinner

Thursday, December 24
EPCOT
ADR- Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall for Breakfast
ADR- Le Cellier for Lunch
ADR- Candlelight Processional at Chefs de France for Dinner

Friday, December 25
Animal Kingdom
ADR- Yak & Yeti for Lunch
Travel to various resorts after lunch and look at Christmas decorations
ADR- California Grill for Dinner

Saturday, December 26
Magic Kingdom
ADR- Liberty Tree Tavern for Lunch
ADR- Narcoossee's for Dinner

Sunday, December 27
Animal Kingdom
ADR- Donald's Safari for Breakfast
ADR- Tusker House for Lunch
ADR- Jiko for Dinner

Monday, December 28
EPCOT
ADR- Biergarten for Lunch
ADR- O'hana for Dinner

Tuesday, December 29
Hollywood Studios
ADR- 50s Prime Time Cafe for Lunch
ADR- Hoop-De-Doo Musical Revue for Dinner

Wednesday, December 30
Go back home!

We're looking forward to our Honeymoon and plan on getting the groom and bride ears. We're so excited!!!!!!
