How do I get from Orlando International Airport to Walt Disney World
What is the best option, especially if we plan Universal Studios & SeaWorld. We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and there are 6 of us. Two which still require a car seat?????
Magical Express, Shuttle (Mears), Towncar/ Limos, Cab, Rental Cars. |

My brother used Tiffany Town Car service last March - there were 5 adults and 3 kids - a van picked them up, allowed them to stop at the grocery for 30 minutes to buy supplies for the baby. Said the service was good and very reasonably priced.

dont waste you time on shuttles and town cars...rent a van its well worth the money and you can use it to drive to the parks much quicker than using busses

You should rent a car/van. If you were staying on-site, you could take ME to your AKL resort. With so much off-site activities, you'd be better off with a rental car. You could also go off-site for some meals, which would save your family a lot of $$.

Another option is to use ME and rent a car for the days you need while at WDW. You can rent at the Car Care Center. I believe the Dolphin also has a rental desk as well as some of the hotels on Hotel Plaza Blvd.

I agree with the quoted advise for a rental car for just the days you need one. And FL has very relaxed car seat rules. Child safety seats are only required for children age 3 and under. Of course, this does not mean you might be comfortable without the protection you normally provide for your children at home. Here in MI our 7 year-old DGD required a booster seat but we had no problem with using Disney transportation without children's safety seats for her.

If you don't wan to stress about transportation, use Tiffany Town car. I would suggest not to use Mears, because everyone else around you will be doing the same thing and you will be shuffled like cattle on their vans/buses and you will make many stops before you get to your hotel. If you really want to go big get a limo from them. The kids will love it!!!

Transportation
If you are leaving property, I would look into a car. AKL is off the beaten path at the furthest west (I think) end of the resort. We like to get out and about, go to the store, get from park to park quickly and rent a car. Thrify has good rates, if you have a Costco or Sam's club their travel section online usually yields good rates. Also, try www.sidestep.com for rates.
From MCO take the 528 to I-4, you can't miss the Disney exit signs. AKL is the last exit. Buena Vista is the main road that intersects Disney east to west, it's easy to get around. Parking is free at most resorts and all parks as a Disney Resort guest. Good luck.
