Taking Disney transfers from Hyatt
I heard that rather than checking in at the usual DCL cruise/magical express bus check in area we'd take a different Disney transfer bus from the Hyatt. Does anyone know if this is accurate and what the earliest departure time is? What time should we get there to check in, etc. We wanted to get to the port as early as possible to check about upgrades. Thanks!

From your question, it sounds like you have already lined up DCL transfers. If so, when you check into the Hyatt, tell then that you are taking a DCL cruise and have DCL transfers. They will give you a sheet of simple instructions. I believe that you will need to have your luggage tagged with the tags provided by Disney and have the luggage waiting *inside* your hotel room door (sometime around 8:30). Someone will eventually show up and take it. This is the luggage that will show up in your stateroom. Anything you want to bring on the ship with you (e.g., carry-ons with bathing suits, etc.), you will take with you.
There is a meeting place near the hotel registration desk, and we got there a bit earlier than we were told (I think we were told 9:30). We actually left our luggage in the room and the hotel people assured us it would be taken (we are trusting and it was fine). The grouped us together (maybe first come first served?) and we followed a Disney person to the bus. Not sure what time we got to the terminal, but it was plenty early. We actually spent quite a bit of time just hanging around at the terminal. We had filled out all of our online information and printed / signed the forms (e.g., acceptance of contract and something about key card charging privileges). So everything went very quickly for us. We were one of the earlier groups called to embark and we had a nice leisurely lunch at Parrot Cay (it was pretty empty) before heading out on deck. |

Disney's transportation from the Hyatt is great, and well organized...but if you really want to get to the port early enough to check on upgrades, you might want to consider using a town car/limo company. On our last 7 night cruise, we were about the 4th family onboard, and they only had two category 3's left open to upgrade to. Not sure if they had any 4's or lower.

That sounds great. Thanks for the info. Last time we flew in the morning of the cruise and I'm sure this will be a lot more leisurely!
