Sweet Endings?

I just made couple of ps reservations for 9/7. It's my husband and I and another couple celebrating our anniversaries! Anyway, the gentleman who made my reservations asked me if we were celebrating anything special and I told him we were celebrating our anniversaries. He spoke really fast and said something about a "sweet endings" option with my reservation and that I could request it now or at the restaurant. Is this something special because we are celebrating something, or is just letting me know that if I want to I can order dessert?...

A lot of places in DLR will give you a free dessert if you are celebrating something. They will usually ask when you make your reservation and make a note of that of the special occasion. I think it depends on your server if they will actually do something for you. Some servers make sure to give you a free dessert while you may have to remind others to do it.

On our last trip, DBF and I were celebrating belated birthdays and the CM who took our reservations made note of it on pretty much all of our reservations. However, only Napa Rose acknowledged our celebration.

If you are celebrating something, it's useful to wear the free buttons that you can get at City Hall. Have fun!

In case you're curious, here are pictures of the free desserts that we got at Napa Rose:

Vanilla Creme Brulee Tart

Scharffen Berger Chocolate Truffle Cake

I believe Cafe Orleans often gives out beignets. Some places give out cupcakes. What you get really depends on where you go.

While the above poster is correct, it isn't what the Disney Dining Cast Member was referring to.

In 2009, the Disneyland Resort is inviting our Guests to come celebrate life's special moments with us as we ask What Will You Celebrate?.

As part of this, Restaurants throughout the Disneyland Resort will be offering special Sweet Endings, allowing our Guests to finish their celebratory meals with a special treat.

(i.e. They're basically themed desserts with lots of Mickey Confetti that you can purchase. Please refer to the menu or ask your Server for more information.)

Thanks for clarifying that! I had no idea that something like that even existed. I'm surprised that I was not offered that at any of the places I went to on our last two trips

That's odd. Why would you buy dessert when they give it to you free? Unless maybe it was some sort of birthday cake for everyone to share. They didn't offer us any sweet ending either. In fact, when I called to make PSs they didn't ask if we were celebrating anything. I had to make a point to tell them both times.
Here is what we got for our anniversary at Steakhouse 55:

And this is what my DH got at Cafe Orleans on his birthday:

We've done 3 bdays this year at DL, we got DBF a free dessert at BB, nothing for me (even tho we ate at WCT and it was noted that it was my bday and I was wore my button, our server said Happy Bday to me but I didn't get a dessert) and a brownie with a candle for DD13 at AG. We have 1 more bday to go, I wonder if DD9 will get anything for hers.

APs expired 1-3-2010, the girls are still good until 2-6-2010 but we have no plans for a visit before they expire. No plans for our next visit, it will be 2011 or 2012 before we head back. We've had fun DLR/DCA, we will miss you while we are gone. We took 14 trips from July 07-July 08 and around 16 from Jan 09-Jan 10.
