Observations of a 5 y/o at WDW (sounds like an up-and-coming DISer)
We just got back Saturday from a trip to WDW, and I thought it was interesting the things my 5 y/o "gets" that apparently are extremely hard to understand for some guests.
1 - Fastpasses - After he figured out what the "clocks" on the standby entrances meant, he'd tell us to "just get fastpasses, but not one for J.D. (our 2 y/o) because he doesn't have a park ticket, so he can't have a fastpass". The part he didn't fully comprehend was that you couldn't just use your FP immediately. 2 - Elderly and parents with babies standing on the bus - when my wife nearly fell while holding our 2 y/o, he asked why no one would let his baby brother sit down. 3 - Line cutting - We were waiting in line to check our photopass pictues at HS. A counter opens and a woman just walks up, ignoring the queue. He looks at me and says, "why is she cutting us?". 4 - Parade seats (happened at Jedi Training) - I see an adult's arm and heard some encouragement to two 7-9-ish boys to get up front with about 3 minutes to go before the Jedis arrive. DS looks at me and says, that's not fair, we've been here all day (40 minutes). Daddy did help on that one and sort of nudged my way until said boys were over the tape line, and then they just stared at me when I wouldn't budge, when they were told to get back behind the line. I was so glad neither of those boys were selected. 5 - Teardrop - after we went once, he suggested we go again, because there were "so many characters and little lines". 6 - Scooters - told me that JD and other babies can't have one of those because they'd crash into everyone. That didn't stop the lady at Pop from giving me a nice bruise on my shin when she suddenly just put hers in reverse without looking in the crowded refrigerated section. When she felt the "bump", she looked back at me bent over and then she just went off without saying a word, others around couldn't believe it. Maybe for those new to scooters a little training would be nice, sort of like the Segways. 7 - Refurbs - when he found out TTA was down, he was a bit sad at first, but then said, that's ok, they just need to fix it so it works when we come next time. 8 - Height Sticks - (he's only 3'6" at 5 1/2), when he'd miss the requirement he'd say, maybe when I'm 6. Although he did hit the measuring sign at Expedition Everest and then folded his arms in disgust. 9 - Read before you drink - at Epcot, one of his favorite things to do now is "trick" people into drinking Beverly. He tells them "try this one, it's so good, it tastes like blueberries" (interesting as he doesn't really like blueberries). Then if a person falls for it, he laughs and just points at the description even though he can't read, he just knows it tells you what it is. 10 - Dual lines - on rides like iasw and Pirates, he tells us to go in the other line instead of following the crowd. A couple times we walked right onto Pirates, and looked across to see a line on the other side.

We should listen to 5 yr olds more often! :)
Ha ha! I love it! Makes me wonder what my 5 1/2 year old will come up with when we leave in 3 weeks. He already told his Sunday School teacher that he couldn't give too much money in the offering because he had to save up for Disney World

DS was devastated when he had to spend all of his money at home when he broke his friend's X-Box controller. This happened the week before we went to WDW. He was convinced he was going to have to stay home since he didn't have any money.
And at WDW, he asked if I'm really good at work if my boss gives me Disney Dollars.

DD6 said yesterday that we should always ride Dumbo first since it gets crowded so quickly and not very many people can ride at once. That's my little DISer-to-be!

SB, the Teardrop is in Toontown. I don't have the maps like Robo, but this is the best way I can describe it.
If you're getting off the train at Toontown there is a pathway that sort of goes between The Judge's Tent, and the fence for the railroad. It looks like a a deadend, but sometimes there are characters there. It's a hit or miss thing, this was the first time we've seen characters there. We just happened to be riding the train and noticed them as we were coming to the Toontown stop. The reason it's called the Teardrop, is if you have an aerial view of it, it goes back sort of like a cul-de-sac and forms what looks like a teardrop.
