CNE an entertaining Day!

I wanted to share with my fellow Disers that we were at the CNE yesterday and while I have not been there since I was a kid - it was very enjoyalbe!

Our DD's are 9 and 13 and we went early - it was dead at 11am but pretty busy by 2pm. Upon arrival we went to the Canadian Armed Forces area. Kids got to go inside tanks, jets and even land a plane on a flight simulator.

Then found the Garnier dome where we all tried on wigs, had our photos taken and then the kids got their hair done (for free) all curly and were given tons of travel shampoos and conditioners to take home with coupons!

We did the midway but I only let the kids on the jumbo slide (not a fan of those travelling rides). Played a few games and then headed into the buildings. Missed the farm one and would have enjoyed it I am sure.

Ok, next year I will go to the CNE just to shop! The deals are amazing! DVD - 4 for $10, Bikini Bay had a booth - sunglasses $5, bathing suits buy one at $14.99 get a second for $1. T-shirts, coats, luggage, it was amazing.

The sandcastles were cool, and then it was off to Superdogs at 1pm (just soso didn't love it) and then the Ice show with Elvis Stoijko at 2pm. Ok, this show was wonderful! The guy singing is from We Will Rock You (Toronto Cast) and the music is all from movies. It's only half and hour and I could have sat there for the afternoon it was that good!

Never saw the food building (next year) and didn't stay for the evening events but I have to say that it offers a full day of entertainment. If you are looking for a last blast of summer entertainment - go to the EX!

Have fun!! We went in around noon y/day and there was no line ups for anything - tickets/rides nor in the food building. It was actually quiet dead and we were there for an hour.

There`s also a little bit of "Disney" at the CNE.....a Ventriloquist Michael Harrison who worked for Disney Cruise Line.

We saw his act last year at the EX and really enjoyed it....he even put a Mickey Ears hat on a boy that volunteered to play a puppet. It was really funny.

Variety Stage; 1 pm & 5 pm
