View from Deck 2 vs. Deck 7
So there is only a $100 difference between Category 8 and 9 rooms with the deal right now for us.
Options are: Room 2606 Disney Wonder Room 7514 Disney Wonder They both have the one large window, but the 7514 room has a much better written out review (same overall number). Any thoughts on which one to pick? Is the view better from deck 7? TIA!!!

Are you prone to motion sickness? Some have reported more ship movement at the front of the ship. This is where all cat 8 rooms are. And the higher up, the more likely you will feel movement.
We're tossing around the idea of taking a cat 8 or 9 room also, but I've been know to feel sea sick, so I'm a little worried about cat 8's.

It is really a matter of personal preference. I love deck 2! I love the location and I love being so close to the water.

In 12 cruises I have stayed in every type of cabin from insides to suites, high deck, low deck, forward and aft and have yet to notice a difference in motion in any of the areas. If the water is rough, the whole boat moves. I would prefer deck 7 because there are no public areas above or below you to cause noise. I like to book rooms based on the noise factor rather than the view.

I love the deck 7 location. It's very centrally located to the various places I spent most of my time on ship.

We've taken 3 cruises and have only been on deck 8 (to fit our family of 5 into one room). One thing I really appreciate is the easy access to deck 9. We often grabbed drinks or breakfast from Topsiders and brought them down to our room. Nice and easy to carry things when you are taking only a flight of stairs or two and not waiting for the elevator. Other than that, I am not sure there's a huge difference from lower decks. So if it were me, I'd rather be on deck 7 as opposed to 2, perhaps only for this reason.
We've only experienced moderate seas conditions, but never had anyone have a problem with sea sickness. The ship definitely sways and moves with the sea, and I'd agree with the earlier posting that you'll feel this everywhere. |

I typically stay in a cat 9 on deck 2, and it's great, but for $100 I'd definitely upgrade to the cat 8. I like the higher deck better, but it's not such a huge difference that I'd pay lots more for it.

So, just to be sure, those of you who have stayed in cat 8's did not feel more movement while in your room? To be honest, I'd prefer a cat 8 to be on a higher deck, but I got sea sick while in Buena Vista theater, which is in front of the ship. I could see the curtains swaying and felt some movement in there and it made me queezy.
I had to go back to our stateroom and sit on the verrandah to get over that icky feeling. Maybe it was the fact that I could not see the horizon while in the theater that made me sick?

We had high seas for our cruise too. The theater was really the only place that I felt ill. Maybe I'll try my luck on the cat 8 rooms then.
