OT sort of: Hotels in La puente?

We are going to California in December.

I just booked 2 nights at Grand Californian on DVC points.

Now I need a hotel near their house and they are in La Puente.

Hubby is a Marriot points member and I found a Courtyard about 15 minutes (based on Google Maps and no traffic) from their house.

He isn't home right now, so I do not know if he has enough points.

Are their any other suggestions for hotels. The only ones seemed to be private motels and then Motel 6 and Hojo!

The last time I was there, I was a sophomore in high school staying at their house. Now it is MANY years later and I am a mom of 3 kids. I am not familiar with the area at all the way it is now.

Thoughts?

TIA!

I'm not familiar with that area either but i googled it and I see La Puente is pretty close to West Covina which is where we occasionally go shopping at the Ikea. There is a big shopping center next to the Ikea that i think has a Target and there are a bunch of restaurants there. There must be some hotels right around there too I would think. Sorry that's not more helpful.

I used to live in La Puente growing up & the area has developed nicely. I'm not familiar w/ surrounding hotels except for Motel 6 bc that one was right next to the freeway & I always saw it when I'd pass by.
There are a lot of different restaurants & shops, and the Puente Hills Mall which has an AMC. Oh, there's a Costco too! This is a really nice area to hang around in, but as far as the hotels go, I have no clue.
