early TS dinner before MVMCP?

would you do an early TS dinner before MVMCP? i thought if we did dinner around 4 (as early as possible) it would save us a little time during the party- we wont have to fight the crowds looking for a meal. does that make sense? others have suggested a TS lunch and a CS dinner.
This will be our first day at the park so we wont be able to go in until 4pm.
I thought CP or CM would be a nice way to kick off our trip

You can enter MK starting at 4PM using only your party tickets.

Since the party tickets allow that (and cost so much "extra,") I'd consider that starting at 4PM to a part of my "time at the party" and not want to waste any of it sitting at a dinner.
That would give you 3 more hours to ride attractions before the party events begin and you need to turn your attention to them.

Others do choose to dine during that 3 extra hours time, so, like anything else, it's all up to you.

Each of the two times I've gone to MVMCP I've done dinner at Chef Mickey's at 5:00, and that's also my plan for this year. While robo is correct about being able to enter the MK with an MVMCP ticket as early as 4:00, the party events don't start until 7:00, so you could easily do Chef Mickey's at 5:00 (or you could do Crystal Palace as early as 4:00) and not miss any of the party events.

Sounds like a good way to start the trip to me. I would do CP at 4 though just so you could have some extra time in the park before the party started. If you did CM, you would have to wait til 5 for dinner to start (I think) and then you would be losing another hour. If you get hungry later on, you could just get a snack. Have a good time.

This is what we are planning on doing. My boys want to eat at CP so I'm planning on an early dinner. Since we can't get in until for I am thinking 4:30.

ROBO- I would prefer to use the extra 3 hours to ride the attractions but kids want to eat at CP. For some reason it's always all about them !

My MVMCP tradition has been to go to the afternoon tea at the GF. I usually get a reservation around 3:00 so that I am done by 4:00 or so and then its a quick monorail over to the MK.
I get the grand tea so I am full when I leave, and then I eat at a CS later in the evening during MVMCP.
I have found that if you enter at 4:00 you can really get a lot of the rides and attractions in that would be closed during the party. Then once the party starts I ride the attractions that are open. I watch the first parade and the fireworks and by then I am ready to get something to eat.
I take my time eat and then meander out of the park.

I love this idea! I've never had afternoon tea at the GF, but it has always intrigued me. This sounds like the perfect opportunity to try it!

OP - for you & two little girls CP would be perfect at 4pm or so.

We are going to The Plaza Restaurant for an early dinner, my boys are, (boo hoo) too old for CP now.
And, the Plaza doesn't take too long to eat there, it's mostly sandwiches, very good sandwiches.

Happy planning!

For our MVMCP we are doing exactly like others have said. We are having an early dinner somewhere other than MK, I am not sure yet, but may be Kona then hopping over to MK for some rides before the party starts and then doing MVMCP. If/When we get hungry we will either snack or go to a CS.

We have never been to MVMCP before or even to WDW Christmas before, but this is exactly what I have thought of doing, great minds think alike!

I love going to the tea at the GF, it's so relaxing and a great way to chill out before heading over to the MK.
The grand tea consists of tea sandwiches, a scone a tart and your choice of pasteries or strawberries with homemade whipped cream on top so you are full when you leave.
To me the Christmas decorations at the GF are the best, with the gingerbread house and all the trimmings in the lobby. It really gets you in the Christmas mood.

I love this idea! I wanted to go to GF to see the Gingebread House anyway. Now I need to figure out how to talk my kids into this instead of CP.

I always enjoy the tea, you are able to relax and take your time, you are not rushed at all. The Christmas decorations at the GF are the best!
The scones are my favorite, the devonshire cream is to die for. The fresh strawberries with the homemade whipped cream are wonderful.
I make it a habit to go to do the tea whenver I go to WDW, even when I am travelling solo.
