Question Compare/contrast HHI to Vero Beach

We've stayed at Vero Beach twice and are considering giving HHI a try. Can anyone who has stayed at both in the summer compare and contrast these 2 resorts for me?

Thanks!

It's hard to compare the two of them, but if you enjoyed Vero you'll probably enjoy HH as well. Both offer a wide array of activities that keep the whole family happy! Two basic distinctions that immediately come to mind are that @ Vero there are restaurants on site and the resort is right on the beach. At HH you need to go over to the Beach House if you are looking for the beach. In addition, if you are eating out you can walk to a couple of close restaurants or explore HHI (there are tons of great restaurants on the island).

Lot's of minor differences - but the big one is that Vero is on the beach, HHI isn't.

VB is located right on the Atlantic with great ocean views from the villas able to see the ocean. The resort itself has 2 full serve restaurants and a cozy lounge overlooking the ocean. There are some great activities both at the resort and nearby. The beach is rather narrow with a steep drop off and undertow at times. The local Turtle-Watch program is active and turtle nests can be found along the resort beach. For other dining options, a car is necessary since there isn't much within walking distance. Vero itself is a quaint community.

The HH resort is about a mile from the beach. There is a Beach House, with pool, snack bar and lounge and transportation is provided to/from the resort. The beach itself is wide with a very gradual drop off with minimal undertow. Sand dollars and starfish are abundant especially at low tide. The resort is located on Longview Island in Broad Creek - a tidal marsh with a great variety of wild-life including Dolphin, sea otter, manatee and lots of shore birds including osprey. There are a number of water related recreational activities available from the resort and more available from Shelter Cove Harbour adjacent to the resort. There is a heated pool and snack bar at the resort, but no full service dining. There are 6 restaurants within 400 yards of the resort at Shelter Cove and over 200 restaurants on Hilton Head. Hilton Head is known for its abundance of golf courses and tennis courts and arrnagements may be made from the resort. The resort offers a variety of activities for all ages (adults included) and even some dining events (Barbeque and shrimp boil).

Both are great resorts - so you can't go too wrong with either if you're looking for a place with lots of activity and also opportunity for relaxation.

Enjoy!
