Need Help is POR big enough for our Family

We are taking an inexpensive trip (relatively speaking) to Disney in Nov-7 nights in POR, using military tickets for 5 days at the park and dining included. Our grand total $2200. That's why we couldn't resist, but now I'm having second thoughts about our hotel. I don't know if we will fit comfortably in a room at POR. Its me, my DH, DS 12, DS 10 and DD 5. The kids don't mind sleeping together and they're pretty average sized kids. My other question is how is the transportation to AK and MK as those are my family's favorite.

With a family of 5, you will either be put in the Alligator Bayou section, which has a trundle bed your DD5 would use, or in Mansions section with a rollaway cot.
The two beds in AB are doubles, plus the trundle, and you can sleep 5.
Transportation to the parks is subjective. Some people seem to think it's not a problem, others don't feel it meets their expectations.
We've never had a real problem with the busses.

You'll be fine at POR. Yes, it'll be tight but it's the least expensive room option for 5. Alternatively, you could get two rooms at the Values or the AS Music Suite, but I believe both of those options are more expensive.

Your 5 year old will be fine in the trundle bed.

It can't be worse than sharing a room on a cruise line for a week!!

Bus service is hit or miss. I have found that it's usually good to the major parks, but worse to the waterparks and DTD. However, if you're at POR, you can just take a boat to DTD!!!

I love POR -- we stayed their when it was Dixie Landings and it's still one of my all-time favorites. It's a beautiful resort.

As others have said, you will be fine at POR.

As for the transportion, we haven't had any major problems with it and we usually are there during Christmans/New Years when it is very busy. The boat ride to DTD is a definite plus.

My family loves this resort.

We stayed at POR 2 years ago with 5. Kids ages were DS11, DS9, and DD4. We did O.K. but the the room definitely felt cramped. If you are only going to be there to sleep, you should be fine. I would do it again, if it was the only option, but would definitely prefer 2 rooms at a value or one at a deluxe.
As far as bus service goes, we had the best service at POR; better than any of the values or deluxes I've stayed at. Of course, when it comes to riding WDW transportation, luck is the biggest factor.
