Help me with birthday surprise for DD7 please!

DD and I are taking a mother daughter WDW trip for her 8th birthday. I have one day scheduled with no park plans, no ADRs to give us a day for something special for her birthday, only I'm not totally sold on what to do We are staying at CBR and will possibly have a rental car.

DD is a total tomboy (3 brothers!) so BBB and things like that are out

A few thoughts I had were:

MVMCP . We love MNSSHP, but have read the MVMCPs can get crowded?

Pirate and Pals fireworks cruise

La Nouba

and my selfish pick Pirate cruise out of GF (means mommy could get a massage)

Which would you pick? Any other ideas?

I have celebrated many birthdays with my (now grown) kids and my DNeph (11) and DGrD(5) at WDW and we've done all of these. . . so here's my 2 cents. . .

MVMCP - if you love MNSSHP (as we do!) and have never done the Christmas party - it is beautiful! In mid Nov (on weekdays) the crowds are not too bad. We love to go into the park around 4 - either have a very early dinner at a sit down - or just get dinner at Cosmic Rays later in the evening and enjoy the character dance party while we eat. With only two of you, you will move through any crowds easily and can wait for the 2nd(less crowded) Xmas parade (my fav!!)-(Santa!!) If you just chill and enjoy the Xmas spirit, special shows and decorations it can be a great night even if crowded. We love to watch the parade on Main St under the 'snow'.

P&P fireworks cruise - haven't done this one yet - doing it with DGrd in Oct - but have done several fireworks cruises - even did a special birthday cruise for DNeph on his 10th. We have always loved the fireworks cruises - especially for Wishes - one time we had a boat with no soundtrack and didn't like that at all. DGrD just found a cute 'pirate' dress at TJMaxx and wants to wear that with her big pirate bandana- I'm going to pack some tattoos and big jewelry too to finish off her look. I thought it would be fun to do the new Pirate League dress-up in MK before the cruise (it's getting great reviews here on the DIS), but that is our arrival day and we need a nap more!!

La Nouba - just did this for the first time with DNeph in June and we both LOVED!!! it. Awesome show! We were in the first row of tier 2 center and had GREAT views. You could combine this with a fun dinner at TRex or somewhere else at DTD.

Pirate Cruise - DNeph did the one out of BC when he was 8 and enjoyed it a lot. That massage would be great - some time alone when traveling alone with the kids is a sanity must!! - and hard to find.
Another fun thing at GF that the kids loved was the Alice Tea Party- you have to leave the kids there - I just enjoyed wandering the GF and having an hour to myself.

Some other things the kids have loved are HoopDDoo - just took DNeph to this (hadn't been since my kids were young) - and we both enjoyed the show way more than I expected - very fun - even more so for him as we were seated front and center and I was the designated 'tortured' person throughout the show - I cannot tell you how much he enjoyed this!!
I noticed that they also have horseback riding at the campground. Don't know about the age limits, though. DNeph and I also did the Mickeys Milestones tour - you get a special meet and greet with Mickey - he liked all the 'inside' info he learned.

Be sure she wears a birthday button that day - it's fun to have all the CMs call out Happy birthday - and a few times we've gotten special treats, phone calls, etc. Have fun planning!!

How about Universal, if she is a tomboy, she will love many attractions there.

What about going to play some mini golf. Or you could take a trip over to WL for a sleigh ride and then head to Ft. Wilderness for the campout/movie. Or you could go horseback riding at Ft. Wilderness.

There are alot of tours you could do at the parks, there is a segway tour in the morning before Epcot opens, you can also go scuba diving/snorkling at the living seas (my dad and my brother did this when he was 13, idk if there is an age min) They have behind the scenes tours at MK and special safari tours at AK. I would suggest calling Disney and speaking to them about it, there may be some things they can set up for you or suggest that hasn't been discussed here on the boards yet and DEF make sure she wears her birthday button for special treatment from cms and other guests!
