As a new DVC member leaving for a trip in....

December, what is the least expensive way to buy a park hooper that can be encoded on your room key? Thanks for all feedback.

The cheapest way is to buy a park hopper from an authorized discounter site. You will receive a paper ticket in the mail, but present that ticket and your room key to the concierge desk in your resort lobby and they will transfer the ticket to your room key.

Does this work for an AP?

APs can not be transferred to your room key. They are always separate.

Thanks Chuck, I called DVC and they told me it had to be purchased directly from Disney. I was thinking about using undercover tourist for the tickets, are they authorized re-sellers. If not, who would you recommend? Trying to save a few bucks if possible. Thank you again

Since you are new DVC members, I want to be sure that you know about the $100 discount on Annual Passes. Most DVCers purchase the annual pass and then make sure that they book next year's trip a week or two before it actually expires so that you get at least two trips out of it. Since it is an Annual Pass you will have full park hopping privaledges built in. And then since I have the annual pass, I usually schedule one in between as well. In addition, if you see a great deal on air fare you can always book a quick trip and usually find a room at OKW and SSR and you'll already have the tickets. Good Luck.

I've never used a ticket seller for Disney tickets, as we've had APs for years, and they aren't available anywhere except through Disney. So I really can't recommend one from personal experience.

Many people here on the DIS, according to posts, have used Undercover Tourist with no problems. Maple Leaf Tickets is another one I've seen mentioned.

Sign up on the Mouse Savers website for the newsletter - it comes (email) on the 15th of the month. In it is a link for Undercover Tourist with few more dollars off the tickets. Not much but every little bit helps, right? The tickets can be put on the KTTW card, we have done it multiple times.

I also used Maple Leaf tickets and they were great! I was a little apprehensive b/c I was buying 10 day hoppers w/ no expiration and it was a lot of $$, but all worked out fine and the tickets were delivered very fast

Wow! $100! Is that off of every annual pass you buy (like for each person)?

It is $100 off per adult, a slightly smaller discount for child APs. $125 off of Premium APs, again with a slightly smaller discount for children.

It is good for up to 8 people in your immediate household, they must show photo ID as proof that they live with you.

Will they combine a park hopper (bought from an authorized discounter) and the KTTW if you are renting points or is it strictly for members? Thanks!

It doesn't matter if you are renting points. You can still ask to have your new/unused ticket encoded on your room key.
