Why did you pay in advance? With DDP CRT only requires a CC as a guarantee. Call 407WDW-DINE and the CM will have to fill out a refund request form, it doesnt happen automatically

They require you reserve in a credit card and then they credit your KTTW card with your dining plan when you get there.

You still have to pay ahead, either in cash or by credit card for CRT.

That confuses a newbie like me. If I have the DDP, I still have to pay in advance if I want to do CRT, but when I get to the restaurant, they refund it back to the card, as I am actually on the DDP?!

If youre on the DDP all the dinner shows and CRT and any other that requires a full payment you only need to give your CC number as a guarantee, they do NOT charge it. rather, they should NOT have charged it.

Yes. Because CRT ressies are hard to get, and people were actually getting banks of reservations at a time and then either giving them away to friends or even selling them on eBay. You didnt' have to leave a CC# or anything other than your name, so someone could rack up a bunch of reservations and then perhaps never use them, thereby making it hard for other folks to get them. So, now you have to pay for the meal in advance, since people aren't likely to skip out on a meal they've already paid for. Since you technically don't get your dining credits until you check in, you can't pay for the reservation with dining credits. So you put it on a CC and then it's credited back once you actually show up and use the reservation.

But is the CRT a set fee? How do they know how much it will cost me until I get there, so what do they charge?

Did you book online? This happened to me for my trip in October. I called and told them I would be on the DDP and they said I didnt specify that I was on the DDP. They had to cancel my resservation and book it again. They did refund my money. However, this was ahead of time. I'm not sure what to do if you already had the dinner. They charged you and took 2 TS credits?

Okay has this changed recently that I dont know about? The 3 dinner shows and CRT just require a credit card as a guarantee if youre on DDP. You should NOT be charged. Correct me if that has changed recently

Just a question, did you book your ADR online? Yesterday I booked all our ADRs for our trip and booked CRT online. It asked for my credit card, and I gave it knowing they needed it to hold the reservation, but it didn't ask if I was on the DDP. Just thinking ahead that maybe I should call Disney Dining to see if they can make that notation on our reservation. I wouldn't be SO worried except that the reservation is for 13 of us

Yes, it is a set price that includes tax and gratuity. See prices here:

No, that's not true.

I have an ADR for September - when I called for it, I gave them a CC# as a guarantee, even though I have the DDP. When I checked my CC account online, I saw they charged me for it.

I called them back. She said a mistake was made - credited my CC - canceled the initial ADR and made a new one only using the CC as a guarantee (which is run through for $1 - as is Fantasmic dining packages)

They do not charge you, and reimburse you, if you have the DDP.

They probably charged your card. I'd take a look at the statement.

Same thing happened with me with HDDR in October. I did online ADR but had been checking for a cat 2 or 3 opening for the 5 o' clock show for weeks and could never find it. Those are the only categories that are included with free dining. One day I happened to go on and see a cat. 2 for 5 p.m. and took it immediately. I had forgotten to sign in with my Res. # though so they weren't connected with my reservation and I was charged full price to my credit card. I called a cm directly after and she said she could try to cancel and rebook but there was no guarantee that someone wouldn't grab it before she had a chance to rebook. She suggested I show them my KTTW card that night and let them run the dining credits and then they could credit my card back at HDDR. Hope that works!

I had a similar issue when I was there three weeks ago.

As a PP stated, a credit card is required for all CRT reservations. If you are on the DDP, the card is taken as a guarantee but it is not charged unless you are a no-show. If you are not on the DDP, the card is charged for the full price of the meal when you make the reservation.

When I made my reservation, I was not on the DDP so I paid in advance. I then added the DDP and I called about getting my CRT payment refunded. After doing some checking and trying, the only way they could do this was to cancel my reservation and refund my money and try to book it again. We did not want to do this for the chance that we could not get a new reservation. She told me that I needed to tell the restaurant directly when I went that morning.

When we checked in for our reservation, they asked if we were on the DDP and I explained all this to them. They told me it was not a problem and to tell my server. The server acted like they handled this all of the time and told me it was easy to do. They would credit my card at the end of the day when they were processing their daily paperwork. I got the credit without a problem.

Based on my experience, I would call the dining line and talk to them about this. Your refund should come from CRT - not from Disney Dining. They may need to put you in touch with the restaurant.
