If you had 1/2 a day to spend in a park by yourself...

If you had 1/2 a day to spend in a park by yourself, where would you go?

Here is some background: I'm on Thursday afternoon and everyone else is arriving Friday morning or evening. We are leaving Wednesday morning. I'm staying at ASMusic and have a 5 day park hopper without the waterpark and more option.

Once they get here I have no control over where we go or what we do, because I'm a tagalong on the trip and I'm lucky to get to hang out with them.

So where would you go on a Friday morning? My first though is MK, but I'm wondering if I should spend time in Epcot.

If it was me, I would go to EPCOT and wander through the countries, watch the shows and movies, try foods from the different countries. Enjoy your day by yourself!

Well I just re-read your post and I see that you said Friday morning, so going thru the countries wouldn't really be an option.

I guess it would depend on if i knew what else i would be doin all week.

But i do love DHS, TOT and Beauty and the BEAst SHow.

But i also LOVE just walking around EPCOT.

So if i knew they were not going to do one of them i would do that.

If they were going to do both i would lean towards Epcot, I love to doall the countries and set a theme.

One time i did purchase a shot lass in each country, one time i did buy some sort of food in each country.

Epcot! Do the World Pavilion. Try to get in some of the live entertainment. Savor every moment.

If I were you, I would go to my favorite park. For me, that would be MK. I love sitting outside Casey's and watching people pass. If I had a day to myself, I would take an imagineering guide book and check out all the stuff I always for get to look for.

How early Friday morning?

As memory serves, you can enter EPCOT World Showcase early, before it opens.

The pastry place in France is fun. This is a great place to grab a snack, sit and enjoy the atmosphere. Feed the birds a few bites of whatever you're having. It will feed your soul.

But, as others here have said, do what you love. Listen to your gut.

A question to you: What do you REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want to do? You alone know the answer. Search yourself. What does it say?

MANY years back, I had a similar Disney challenge, and I went with what my gut told me to do. To this day, it is one of my favorite memories. Listen to yourself!

And let us know the answer!

Hi: go with your first thought MK. Get there early and have a danish and a drink and then just wonder around and try your favorite rides of something you have not done before. Have lunch at Columbia Harbor House and eat on the second floor and watch the people below. Relax watch the people, ride the train around and take your time getting back to the resort. I am speaking from experience, but everybody has there favorite place to go.

have fun

John

I would probably go to Animal Kingdom - it is a great place to roam all the trails and watch the animals and find all the great details. When you are with a group you don't get to go at your own pace and wander around.

If I were you, I'd go to the one place you don't want to miss. Since it sounds like you're not making the plans when the full group arrives, you might want to get the must do's out of the way.

have a great time!

Tonya, I am with you. Animal Kingdom has an atmosphere like no other. I love it there so much.

I would be hard-pressed to decide between Epcot World Showcase and Animal Kingdom Park . . . but that's just me.

Nice post!

One of my very favorite things at WDW is watching the Streetmosphere performers at DHS. I think they are fabulous, but I never get to just sit and watch them...a whole skit, so I would probably do that. Head right for TSM when the park opens for a FP, sit and watch all the great skits, have lunch at Starring Rolls and take a couple rides on RNR.

Normally I'd say World Showcase at Epcot...but it doesn't open until 11 am. So, I'd probably pick Magic Kingdom so you can do some of your favorites and/or just soak up the atmosphere!

I would probably go to Animal Kingdom or to Animal Kingdom lodge and sit outside and watch the animals.

I'm with SpaceAce - do whatever your personal "don't miss" thing is: the one thing that you would be really disappointed to miss out on if it doesn't make the agenda for the rest of the group once they arrive.

On my last 2 trips, I had some solo time, and for me, the first thing I did each trip was head over to MK to ride Space Mountain, which is a sentimental favorite for me and a definite don't miss.

Another idea might be to take one of the behind-the-scenes tours, if that's something that you are interested in. We did the Segway tour at Epcot last year, and it was a lot of fun.

If it were me I would definitely go to Animal Kingdom and spend the time wandering around the trails and watch the animals. I would skip the rides - you'll do those with the others. You can stay and watch each animal as long as you want, and talk to the keepers, without having to worry about whether the others are getting bored.
