So sweet
Last night we were waiting for the fireworks. We got an awesome spot. Right in front of the roped off section between coca cola corner and the photo store. A little before 9:00, the cm's let people sit in the middle of the street. We did it this way twice, had a great view and didn't have to stake out a spot early.
While waiting, I overheard a conversation between a cm and a young woman. She is a cm at DW. They were comparing their jobs and the different parks. I don't know what her job was, but she was adorable. She looked like amy Adams in Enchanted. Long skirt, fancy, glittery Ariel ears. She wanted to visit DL. At the end of the fireworks, confetti falls from the sky. When that happened, she said in a teary voice, "we don't have this at dw". When the lights came on, she also had tears in her eyes. I thought it was very sweet and was glad she enjoyed them so much. |

Love this story! Thanks for sharing.
Can you please give a little more detail about what happens at the rope? I can't visualize what you said. Because we are never at Main Street that time of night (we are usually in the hub or riding rides). Is there a rope that runs from sidewalk to sidewalk? And then the cms remove the rope? Sorry I am having a moment- can't quite catch it/

I am imagining the walkway they create with ropes from sidewalk to sidewalk. Right from photo shop to across to the other side of the street which would be coke corner. I never realized they let people sit there, as I thought they had to keep some sort of walkway like they do for F! I wonder if that is it? will be looking for this next time lol

Yes, they rope off the area between coca cola place and the photo shop. There is an area in front of the rope for people to walk across the street but they keep them moving. Then they rope off the hub. But they leave main street open until about 9:00 so you just have to be there at that time and get your spot. Hope this makes sense.

When crowds are heavy they make you travel one way on mainstreet. They have a small path around the hub and everyone must head in a counter clockwise (I think) direction. By the time you get to mainstreet its a free for all so I'm guessing they let that rope down just before the fireworks begin.
That story is sweet. Glad she had a magical moment.
