Best fast shipping memory cards?

I have amazon prime so I could always order there but I thought I'd check to see if there are any recommendations for a place to get memory cards with fast shipping. Today is Sunday and I have to have them Thursday.

Have you taken a trip to your local Best Buy?
They been having a sell on class 10 SD cards lately.
You might want to check to see if they are still on sell.

I agree with checking out your local Best buy as well, and now that they price match it's a great option if they carry the card you were looking at on amazon. Just get them to price match if the in store price is higher and you can walk out with the card you need.

I just answered you thread here:
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.ph...95&postcount=2

I do not recommend Best Buy under any circumstance, due to their new return policy of requiring ID on all returns promoting identity theft, due to the fact that the ID information is stored in a database that has not been properly secured (it has already been hacked a few times).

Additionally, Best Buy is usually much more expensive. Sometimes Radio Shack will have a good deal, but they are on Sandisk, which are the only brand I have ever had failures with.

So, I would say look at my other response for information as to where and if you absolutely have to have it by Thursday, I would say get from Amazon and look at the Wintec brand, hey are fast and reliable. And, I use my memory cards A LOT.

This is OT, and I'm totally not a Best Buy fan. But many places have your information and it's not very secure at all. Ever write a check at a grocery store? And Walmart (among many other places) has long required ID for certain returns.

Back to the OP's original question.... is there a particular reason you want them shipped rather than buying local? I picked up a couple of class 10's at my local Walmart the other day.

I don't have a checkbook, so, no I don't. Additionally, they are no longer allowed to write down your ID for a check, only the state issued and expiration date (at least in California). online bill pay is far more secure, as you essentially pay the bank and the bank pays the bill from their account on your behalf.

Others only require ID for items returned without a receipt, so you are making a trade for the courtesy of them allowing the return without a receipt. Best Buy is requiring ID on all returns, even ones with a receipt and they eneter your: Name, Phone number, Address, Email Address, ID and Credit Card number (possibly on the last 4, but that's enough) if it was a credit card purchase into the same system. With this much information, it is a simple matter to get a social security number and any other information that a thief might need.

To answer why have them shipped...I can usually pick up a 16GB Class 10, UHS-1 card for around $15 online these days and a 32GB card for around $25. I have yet to see them in the store for these prices, but admittedly, I don't go to Walmart too often, because it's too crowded and not as close as Target and the prices here are very close.

cmwade77 You don't have to give any one any information if you choose not to, even Best Buy!
cmwade77 the OP stated she had to have them by Thursday.
OP I would take photo_chick advice and check the price match option that
Best Buy offers.
I purchased 5 16gb class 10 cards at Best Buy for $8 and some change each.
These were ScanDisk Ultra 16gb Class 10 2 of which where Micro SD Cards.
It was the cheapest I found from the internet to Walmart.

Another vote for just picking them up locally especially if you need them by thursday. I have paid for 2 day shipping from Amazon and had it arrive late. (they do refund the shipping charge if that happens).

OT: I always laugh when stores ask for information on returns simply because they never check. I've returned at best buys and yes they have asked me to fill in information (address and phone number) which I always do with a made up address. I've never had them ask for my drivers id but I don't write checks.

I don't think they have any greater chance of Identity theft than any other store. for the record I have shopped at B & H's in NY and they too will ask you to fill out information on returns.

Best Buy now not only asks for ID on returns, but their computers will not process the return without them entering the ID information. At least that's what the ones in California do (waiting to see the class a action lawsuit on that one, as they are not allowed to record address or ID information in credit card transactions). Many people here have tried to get around the ID required for returns, but Best Buy simply refuses to exchange or return anything without ID.

And yes, they will price match, but it takes 30-45 minutes to get them to do so.

Back to the OP, look at Radio Shaft - they actually have great prices on SD cards. I got a 16GB SanDisk ultra class 10 card for $20. And I generally dislike Radio Shack, but this is the one thing they have going for them.

Note: Even though it's Class 10, it's still rated at 30MB/sec. I haven't ever really caught up with the classifications and transfer speeds but this card works just fine in my HD camcorder.
