Haunted Mansion Wedding Ring Tale - The DIS Discussion Forums

Hi All, Please please would someone answer this question in regards to the Haunted Mansion wedding ring tale?

I have read so much about it however, I just do not know whether it is still there embedded in the cement outside of the Haunted Mansion or not!?

So I thought if anyone would know, you guys would know!

based on what I've gleaned from here, the "ring" was actually some piece of left over construction material. People saw it and the myth quickly developed around it. I think someone here said the "ring" has since been removed.

I asked a HM CM about the ring when we were there in '07. She said it is no longer there. Too bad- it is a neat "legend".

Doombuggies.com says that the ring was removed in 9/2007 as part of the refurbishment.

i have no real sense of time, but at one point it was patched over for a bit, then someone removed the patch and re-exposed it, but after the major refurb in which the staircase was added for example, it's gone for eternity.

On Previous trips we had spotted the "ring" in the cement at the Haunted Mansion. On our last trip there (November 08) I asked a cast member about the ring. I was told that it was removed but to look on the bride's finger in the attic....it is indeed there!

Thanks for the cool pics! I always wanted to see it but never got the chance. I'll have to check the bride's finger next time.

I too read the tale of the ring - so on our last trip this past Jan (2009) - here I go - after exiting the ride - looking all over for the crazy thing...

Of course I should've known better than to try and stand in the middle of the dang exit - good thing it was close to the park closing and there weren't too many people coming out...

But I WILL be looking on the bride's finger when we ride this year!! I have a 3 1/2 year old DD, who absolutely LOVES this ride...so you can bet we will ride it...and ride it....and ride it....
