anyone who cancelled trip how long to receive refund

I am just curious how long it took to receive your money back. We put the trip on a debit card. I cancelled on tuesday. We cancelled because we are having some financial difficulties and have had some emergency expenses come up. It always kind of annoys me that it always takes so long to receive a credit for anything! Especially when it is actually cash. Anyway just wondering how to wait before checking on my money.

I think it took about 2 weeks to get mine back. I called after a week or so because I was concerned it didn't get properly canceled. This was last December.

We had to cancel our free dining trip too thanks to some unexpected car repairs

Luckily my sister is DVC so we are going with her and doing QS plan instead, it will still be a nice break.

Anyway, I finally gave in and cancelled our package on Sunday and the refund amount hit my account today (Friday) so not a full week. Hope your refund is speedy, very sorry you had to cancel your trip.

Did either of u receive a email from disney confirming it was cancelled? I had thought they might send one. I guess I need to stop whining because really when I paid the remaining balance I knew we were having issues. I think I was in denial though

I cancelled a September trip on July 18, and my money was refunded on July 20. So super quick for me.

I had to cancel our May trip back in April before the 45 days came up. I did get an email and it took somewhere from 7-10 days. I also used a debit card and did get the credit.

It seems like it takes longer to receive your refund from anywhere when you use a debit card! On my Visa I normally get my credited on my account within a few days.

The few times I cancelled with Disney I never received any email/mail cancellation notice.

I didn't receive a cancellation email. I was in major denial too. It's hard to cancel something that you have been planning on and looking forward to for months

Hopefully next year will be better for everyone

Sounds like me! I had to do this not once, but twice. Both times with my Visa debit card. I cancelled on Sundays and the money was back in my account by Thursday both times.

We cancelled (rescheduled) our free dining trip in September and it took less than a week for our refund to hit our credit card. We also got a cancellation number when we cancelled it.

If it's on a CC, Disney will usually tell you that it can take up to 3 billing cycles to see a credit. But it's been my experience that it shows up as a credit on my account within a couple of weeks.

Last year, I used several gift cards to pay for my DD's portion of her graduation trip. We had to cancel & rebook because the girl who originally booked it could not go. Had it been any other name on the reservation it would have been no problem. Anyway, with Disney's policy that all refunds go back to their original source of funding, all the money had to go back on the individual GCs. It took 6 weeks for the final GC to be credited.

I hope that the money gets back to you quickly, OP. I hate it when someone doesn't pay me back in a timely fashion regardless of whether I need the money urgently or not.

We used the Disney Chase card and the refund hit the account in about a week.

I booked a room only discount for Beach Club then had my Dreams TA snag me a CL room with the discount. I cancelled my room only on a Sunday and the money was back in my bank account before Friday of the same week. Of course I'm real anal and check my account daily
