Hello Disney Cruise Fans!! I am new to DisBoards...I usually post on other Mice & Laughing boards but they have NOTHING really about the cruiseline there. So, someone told me about DisBoards & here I am! Better late than never, I guess! Any-who...I just booked a last minute 4 night Disney Wonder cruise for 9/6/09 this week. It's a birthday gift for ourselves! We both turn 40 this month.
This will be our first cruise EVER! So we are a little excited & nervous! We are in stateroom #6148...I hope it's a nice room! I've been reading the board for a few days now & have seen some really good info here, (I booked this Exotic Rasul spa thing because of what I've read here!) but wanted to post & say hello. I, of course, do not have Palos booked for the brunch, but you guys have made me feel pretty good about getting to the port early & going to Wave Bands first thing. Just lots of great info here from you guys! From beer mugs to bringing water bottles on board to Pirate Night expectations, you guys ROCK with the 411!Feel free to chime in with any other tips/information for excited but nervous first time cruisers! Thank you for these great threads!! And I'm glad I found DisBoards!

Welcome! We're first-time cruisers as well (although long-time WDW fans) and I have also learned so much from the DisBoards--these folks are so helpful!

Welcome to the boards! I found this board last year when I booked my trip and have been obsessed ever since.
All I can say is surf around here, check out the FAQ and post if you have questions. This board has great people and they offer lots of help - especially to us newbies. With that said - enjoy your cruise that is not that far away, and I'm jealous of such a quick countdown, I've been counting down since June 2008 for my December 2009 land/sea vacation!!!

Welcome!! I'm a first time cruiser as well. But, I've learned a ton from the vets on here. Make sure to read the stickies at the top of the page. They will help. And ask questions...someone will help. Good luck to you!!!

On our Wonder cruises, Palo ressies and Dining Changes didn't open until 1 PM. THere were CMs in the halls not allowing people to line up until about 10 minutes before that....they politely told us that it would open at 1 and we could not congregate until then. Check your Navigator on check in...the 1 pm time was there as well. Yes, they did set up a row of chairs and we "shifted" chairs as the line moved. It worked....and we didn't have to stand there!
If you don't get the Palo ressies you want, just relax. You'll do it on the next cruise. You have plenty of time to prepare for this one. 2 weeks is not all that short. Do the "on line" check in and print the appropriate pages. If your luggage tags don't arrive, you can get them at port (private transportation) or DCL will put them on for you if using DCL transfers! Just go to the DCL section of the Welcome Center (lower level terminal B) with your luggage claim checks--they'll take care of everything from there. |

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome!!! From a veteran DCL cruiser (17 of them) I can pretty much guarantee that although this is your first DCL cruise, it won't be your last. DCL seems to have a way of addicting people right away.
You will find many on these boards who have several DCL cruises under their belt....all fallen under the spell of DCL. They provide a quality cruise experience with that special Disney Magic & Wonder that gets under your skin and makes you want to come back again and again. Enjoy your planning and make sure you let us know how you enjoyed your first cruise!!! MJ

These boards helped me with everything from times for flights, to rental cars, to hotels, & then EVERY thing about being onboard in general. We are going on our 2nd cruise in January ( yes they are very addicting! You have been warned). My aunt and her family are coming along, and whenever she has a question she says "can you go on the boards and find out......" Or if I give her some kind of "disboards info" she"ll ask me how I found that out and I'll say "the boards, of course!"
