Southwest boarding with a disability and child

My daughter is 9 and I have a disability. Will southwest let us board together?

I don't know that I can safely board with other people given my mobility issues and the size of the plane and I am not leaving my 9 year old alone in an airport while I board.

Will they let me baord wiht my daughter when they allow people with disabilites to board?

Yes, you and your daughter can board together.

With a disability, you and your daughter should be able to board first. And if you need help just ask

did you really think

SWA would want an unescorted minor to stand all by herself to board??? I don't understand why SWA has this reputation. I have always found them to be beyond helpful during the boarding process. Honestly, they don't want your child to be alone any more than you do!!!!

Send a message via ICQ to ExPirateShopGirl
She just asked a question... and, frankly, gate agents are not scanning the crowds for minors, accompanied or otherwise.

Breathe in, breathe out. Excellent.

When you make your ticket, you can put on the reservation that assistance will be needed. They are very helpful. No worries! Have a fun time with your daughter!

Once you get to the gate area, go to any SW person you see at a gate counter, and ask for a "pre-boarding pass". You will need this blue pass to hand to the attendant at the time of boarding.

Any one with a blue sleeve (pre board) is allowed one person to accompany them. When we went last year GFIL boarded with a blue sleeve and FIL was able to go on with him.
