Vacation Countdown: Somehow Different

Maybe it's the fact that BLT is on the monorail loop and just stirs memories of my childhood trips to Disney in the 70s (Poly and CR). Who knows...

Our family bought into DVC in Feb 1992 and we have felt the love all along. Have been excited to try every new DVC resort along the way.

BUT.

This feels different. We're checking in on Sunday on our new add-on points and I have been all nervous (in the best way) and emotional. DH is ready to kill me. Is anyone else feeling that something is different about this one?

I'm happy to dance with you
I have 2 opinions
We had tried usual things to keep them away, including something like coyote urine, it is sold in hardware stores by us

Enjoy the trip!

We never stayed in CR tower, just the wing that was knocked down. I would look at the rooms high in the tower and feel dizzy. Still, the whole family is looking forward to our BLT stay this January. I've been forwarding links to many of the pictures that people post here to the family. I think they think I'm nuts just a bit, but I'm very excited about that stay, even though we've 2 short trips before and 2 longer ones planned for next year after the January trip, already. There IS something special about BLT for me too!

We have not stayed at the BLT yet but I know it will be emotional when we do.
The CR was the very first place we stayed(in the garden wing which is now BLT)
in '93. Then we were lucky enough to stay in the tower twice, once with the kids and once just DH and I. Every trip we go to CR and walk around, or have a meal or visit the arcade. We just love it.

If I make my Dh look at one more picture of BLT..... he may just go crazy on me! This is our first DVC trip but we both have stayed at Disney before, but never this close to the MK...... I think I am more excited then my kids!!!

I kind of know how you feel. Although I've never stayed at CR, we bought at BLT to be close to MK. MK is, was, and always will be my favorite park. The other parks are great, but MK is where the magic lives. My biggest complaint about previous trips was that we never got to spend enough time at MK. Even with the EMHs, I felt like MK was too far to go for an hour or two. Now it will be a 10 minute walk.

I think I understand exactly. My mom and I actually talked about this when we first saw BLT under construction from Bay Lake on the boat from the WL. Now please don't be upset with what I am about to say but I mentioned that I thought the CR was cold and I didn't think I'd like BLT because of that. Then my mom said, "just think about all those people who came Disney as children in the 70s and stayed at CR because it was the only resort. Those are the people that will love staying at BLT" - and that's when it clicked. I bring my nieces and nephews to the VWL when we go now and I hope when they get older they'll feel the same way about the VWL as you do about BLT. Have a wonderful trip.
