Frankie Says Relax (or does he?!)

Where are your favourite places to sit back and 'get away from it all' at or near Disney? My DB is a Disney novice and I think after four days of Disney (even if some of the time is spent in Paris itself) we'll want some time in the afternoons just to chill out and relax. I love the sound of pedalos on the lake and will definitely be checking out the hotel bars in the evenings - any other suggestions for the day?!

And while I'm at it - a slightly cheeky question regarding this. Is there any way of using the outdoor pools and areas at the HNY or NPB when you're not a guest? We're staying at the Santa Fe and I know you can't use the indoor ones which is fair enough seeing as they sound like they're pretty busy, but we just want somewhere to laze around in the afternoon and it might still be warm enough in September to be outdoors (*fingers crossed*). I'd upgrade to the SQL or NPB for a couple of nights for this reason only, but we booked with the 40% offer so apparently they'd have to start the whole reservation again if we upgraded, making it £291 extra at least - not quite feasible, much as I'd love it to be! Any ideas - I can't tell from the photos of the pools whether they're fenced off or have an 'entrance' or not.

Thanks guys!

You definitely can't use the pools. No reason not to visit the bars/cafes though.

You could relax round the lakes - there are grassy bits near NPB where people were sitting the other week enjoying the sun and also seats and steps around the lake where you can sit and relax and watch the world go by.

You can also find quietish areas in Adventureland and Frontierland where there are seats where again you can sit and watch the world go by.

There is also Fantasia Gardens and I suppose nothing to stop you going to the garden areas of Newport Bay - through the hotel to the front entrance by the carparks and Disneyland hotel - again through the hotel

The outdoor areas of the pools are accessed via the indoor pool

The decking area at the back of SL was very nice when it was hot as it's amongst the trees so is nice and shady.

Haha I know! Don't want to scare the DB off by making it hectic on the first trip, or it'll be the last one too!

Loving the suggestions so far by the way - thank you everyone Can't believe it's only three and a half weeks away now, so excited!!

The deck at the Sequioa is gorgeous! Also any of the benches round the lake. Not sure about bad weather though.

I always like finding a quite bench in Adventureland and having a sit-down with a drink or an ice-cream. Always nice and shady there too.
