Does anyone know if Mickey's Backyard Barbeque is open during December? Has anyone been to this? Is it fun? TIA!

It's open year-round.

Hi There!
On our last trip we did Mickeys BY BBQ, it was fun! I will say though, I don't think that we would do it again. We do Chef Mickey's each trip, and have a newfound love for O'hana's Lilo and Stitch Breakfast...the BBQ was fun, but just seemed too disorganized for my liking. We arrived and were left to find a table ourselves, which was a challenge and a half. After searching for a good 20mins (family of 6, not easy to seat!) a CM took pity on us and opened up a "RESERVED" section. I was greatful for that, and the rest of the evening was fun fun fun! The part I will never forget is my kids dancing on the dancefloor with Mickey Mouse, Minnie and Goofy. It was just priceless to see them all dancing together and having fun!

So not really "knocking it" - just saying, fun - yes, do it again? Likely no.

I have to knock it, sorry!

It is a waste of money. This is coming from die hard WDW fans. For what you get (ie food, character interaction etc) any of the other shows is a better value.

Hoop De Doo or the Lua come to mind (sorry lua? no idea how to spell that one!)

We hit the BBQ back in 2008 and it was horrible. I totally understand that you are not getting fine dining at many of these events, but that said the food was nasty. Our kids got little time to try to dance "with" the characters. It was much more of a free for all with little CM control of character access and was a bad night.
