Story Time 3 at Windsor Hills-----Is this reason enough to look somewhere else?
Cinderella73 (and everyone else who has stayed in Story Time #3), I need your opinions, please.
We finally settled on the dates for our next trip. November 11th, 2010. Turns out, Story Time 3 is not available! With it being 15months away, I really didn't expect that it would be booked. Story Time 4 is available but I really don't like that the pool faces the road. Am I worrying too much about it? Cinderella73 told me in a previous thread that it faces the road but it's only a small part of the road and the road is not busy. Has anyone stayed in #3 and been annoyed at the open view to the pool? or Should I stop worrying so much about one small thing?

We have booked storytime 2 for our next vacation. It was the only one available for our dates. I'm not worried about the way the pool faces. I'm not going to be skinny dipping.
I would still go with it. I guess I just don't think its a big deal. I can't believe that your first choice was already booked 15 months out. Thats crazy! |

What: you're going to have a private pool and NOT got skinny dipping? What fun is that?

Personal preference, but I booked one townhouse over others because it had a more private facing splash pool. Was worth it to me to pay a little more.

The ST 4 does get a good amount of sun and is open on one side ( opposed to being blocked in on two sides like middle townhouse units) . But here is the thing. With the middle units yes you have privacy walls on both sides ( which makes me feel closed in) but you also have people who can see right into your pool from the bedroom windows on each side of you. Not so much with a end unit. As far as being in view of the road. There is hardly any cars ever on it . And I do mean hardly . It was really quiet there both times I visited. The road is a closed one and only for people in that location ( which is a small area) . So there is no throughway type of traffic. There is also some shrubbery and the view looking out from the pools screened in area is of a grassy area and it faces the side of another townhome . There are shrubs in front and some of the side and that plus the patio furniture block anyone being able to see in. Oh and there is no sidewalk in back either just grass. My opinions are ST 1 faces the wall that surronds the entrance into Windsor Hills. So I didnt like that. Its closest to the busy road which even though you cant see it you can hear it . Plus I dont like the shape of the pool and position of the steps . ( All townhomes have same size pools but can have differently shaped ones with steps in different places) ST 2 nice view of the lake and fountain from master bedroom window upstairs but pool gets chilly and shaded . Not a end unit . Kids bedrooms recently updated a bit very recently ( looks really nice) ST 3 gets the most sun of all and faces a grassy area with the backs of other townhomes facing in. Not a end unit . ST 4 Get the next best amount of sun and only has neighbors on one side. Upgrades throughout the house. ( Dont care for paint color / style in upstairs bedroom- BUT all of their homes are beautiful none the less) Open on one side but not to overly visable to passerbys. I tend to ramble a bit but hopefully I made some sense. Family keeps trying to talk to me as I am typing. lol If anyone has any specific questions ask away and I will try my best to help. |

When you first enter WH and before you pass through the gates you will see a wall . This unit faces that wall . ( But you do of course still have a bit of grass to walk on when you open the back screen door. Not that you will even want to or need to) Dont worry its completly sealed off from the road and enclosed with the rest of WH. I would imagine this unit also gets a little bit better sun than ST2 But not as much as ST 3 or 4 maybe.

I think you'd be pleased with any of their units, honestly I can't see how not. We're staying in ST Kingdom for our upcoming trip in October.

Oh I totally agree. For anyone reading they are all some of the very nicest homes at WH. I just was comparing the units to each other based on what I like. But I would rather take my least favorite ST home than anyone elses best . All townhomes are a quick walk to the clubhouse and pool. Nothing wrong with the pool steps but they are on the far left side near the wall and I know it may soud silly but I like them on the side that is near the bigger open space. ( Like with ST 2 ) We stayed at ST kingdom and loved it. Its huge inside , the pool is really deep , and we loved having the gameroom and full size washer and dryer. It was nice having all those bathrooms in the morning with everyone getting ready. Kids loved the Nemo bathroom and I loved the upstairs master bath. The tub was heavenly ( nice and deep) and it also had a long vanity area that was great for all of our girly stuff. Have a great trip! |
