Need gift ideas please

Yes, I am Christmas shopping already. If I start now, I may not be out looking on Christmas Eve.

I need a gift idea for a young married couple. They are one year out of high school, neither went to college. They live at home with his parents and younger siblings so not a lot of storage room.

Last year we made them Christmas ornaments using clear glass ornament balls and filled them with flowers from their wedding and added ribbon trim in matching colors.

I am actually looking for something special and unique that they will cherish forever.

I was thinking of a Couples Bible but I don't want to offend them either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A quilt is a good idea. Rag quilts are super easy to make or Wal Mart has nice ones for a pretty good price.

A photo album or nice picture frame is nice too.

How about a gift of cash? I give my nieces and nephews cash taped to a box of candies.

A scrapbook of their first year together including things like news articles of 'big' things that happened this year, gas prices, home prices, etc. Pics of them their 'first' holidays.

Thats what I was thinking. If they are living with his parents, the last thing they need is something else to find a place for. I would wait until they have a place of their own to start giving them things.

I too, like other posters, was thinking of something more monetary related such as a gift card for a night out or dinner and movie tickets, a night's stay at a hotel or something like that. They would not cherish it forever but I would bet that it would be their favorite gift that year! A couple like that is sorely in need of some alone time I'm betting.

An idea of something they would cherish forever and not take up much space is a family recipe book. Gather cherished recipes from family members and put it together in a book.
