Live from BLT **PIX ADDED 8/18**MORE PIX ADDED 8/19**

I am writing this as I stare out my bedroom window from Room #8120, a one bedroom MK view on the 11th floor. While words do not do it justice I will try anyway.

The view is absolutely amazing. I can see four resorts from our balcony and WISHES last night from our room was breathtaking.

I am not fond of contemporay styling, but I can "survive"... I just look out the window.

We checked in yesterday at about 11AM, room was not ready so we headed off to EPCOT for lunch in Mexico. Returned about 7PM and stared out the window for while. There were no clouds, so the sun shines directly at you in th PM. I did get some nice sunset pictures which I will post when I get time or we get home, whichever comes first.

Went up to the Top of the World lonuge about 8:15PM. Had a Bay Lake Tower flatbread (BLT, of course) which was very very good. We watched the beginning of Illuminations from the observation deck and then headed back to our room for the 10PM WISHES show. The music and narration is on Channel 20. We turned out all of the lights in the room and covered the TV. It was just fabulous, can't wait until 10PM tonight. The best part is you are ready for bed by 10:30!!!!!!!!! No busses, no crowds, no walking...

Today we slept late (for us) and got to the MK at about 10AM. It is very hot, so we did a couple things and headed back. We check out tomorrow and wanted to soak up as much view as we could.

Dinner reservations at Boma tonight at 5, and WISHES at 10... dont have plans for in between..

I think they are pumping something into the air system that promotes addonitis.... maybe I'm wrong....

More later..

Thank you for posting.

Enjoy the rest of your stay at BLT.

Do you have anyone sleeping on the sleeper sofa? If so, how is the mattress?

dizfan,

My DD is on the sleeper chair and she said it is more comfortable than the sleeper sofa at OKW. My DS is on the sleeper sofa and he also say it is comfortable, but I think he could sleep on the sidewalk and be comfy.....

Hi mac_tlc,
Thank you SO much for the fantastic review. I have a reservation for BLT in December and now I can not wait.

I love the contemporary styling so even if that is not your thing and you are loving it I know I will feel right at home. Once I stay there though I may catch the dreaded addonitis! Now to find that perfect BLT resale contract!

Thanks again,
Jamie

Anything is possible - reminds me of the bakery "perfume" they release into the atmosphere in MK to entice guests in for a delicious pastry treat.

Glad you are enjoying your stay - and the fabulous view.

Thought I would continue the review.....

After dinner at Boma last night (as usual, a fabulous meal where I ate too much) we came back to BLT to enjoy the surroundings. Spent about an hour at the pool, from 8-9 pm. It was not very crowded, probably 20-25 people. The slide is very cool. It's basically circular with two revolutions. You gain some speed on that second "lap" before you enter the water. There is a lifeguard at the top clearing people to go, but that was not the intent. It seems that the automated "red light" "green light" system is not functioning, so they must have a person there. At least that's what the person staffing the slide said....

Did WISHES again from our room. Just as magnificent as the first night. There was some vivid lightning in the area (also very visible from our room), so Tinkerbell did not fly. I forgot to mention on the original post that you can clearly see Tinkerbell's entire flight from the Castle !!!!!

I think the experience is enhanced because you can hear the music and narration so clearly, and there are no loud "BOOMS" to disrupt the narration. As I sit here overlooking the Magic Kingdom, I conclude that the 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom units have a distinct advantage over Studios in the "view" department. The living room has four windows, each 6' by 4'. That's a 6' high, 16' wide unobstructed view, except the dividers between the windows (let's not get too picky here !). Of course the first thing you have to do when you enter the room is move the lamp that is dead center in front of the windows.

Well, checking out this morning and moving to OKW for a couple days. Will have more space in a 2 BDR, but no view.... unless they changed something since May !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pix coming soon.

Hey thanks for the TR, are they still giving away the Mickey or Minnie artwork? Do they have any BLT pin left for sell?? Those on ebay are like up to $99 a pin.
